Title: Searching for s teering wheel inserts
Post by: justcallmeal on July 29, 2011, 02:19:07 pm
Need your expertise folks,

I have a GTi sterring wheel - no controls - and the two side plastic inserts are starting to flake.
I've been looking for replacements but can only find these, which I really don't want!

Any thoughts?

Thanks

Al

Got a pair of original VW inserts as I changed mine to multifunction buttons. £12 Inc p&p if you want them. I can post photos if you need. Those chrome ones are

Alternatively, if you have a DSG car with paddle shift, why not change to multifunction buttons. If you have a manual, it's a new steering wheel to get multifunction buttons.

These were removed from my steering wheel only a month after the wheel was replaced under warranty, so they really are unmarked.

Patrick, I have DSG & Darren/MortyGTTDi fitted the MFSW buttons, coding not even required for me! 10 minute job. As long as you have a DSG wheel with paddles

Make sure you source the buttons appropriate to the age of the car; there are early & late types. The later one's have a star button and a phone button on the left side switch. I can't recall the early type, but ye searche functione shalle provide ye knowledge :happy2:

You have email. I suggest you edit your last post to take your email off the page. Stops email spiders firing junk at you :happy2:

Sold.

I've got one more, its a new right side insert, there's a guy who may want it, if not it's £8.50 inc p&p, if anyone's interested.

Beats £70 each at the dealer
