I sat in an 07 plate Passat yesterday and it had a quick clear heated windscreen which got me wondering if you can get one on the mk5 Golf?
If so, how hard is it to retrofit?
Thanks
Dan

I don't think any came with one & I doubt you can retrofit it. If you can it'll cost big money

Tis a shame that seeing that even a humble ford fiesta can be specced with one... :sad1:

Something to do with Ford copyrighting the tech, either way just press the de-mist button on the controls and I'm sure you can wait and extra minute or two

Ford did originally have some sort of patent on it which is why you only ever saw it on Ford group cars but I'm guessing its expired now but maybe the manufacturers still have to pay Ford some royalties. Its great in winter for clearing frost / ice / snow. Wish the golf did have it!

You can get them made for any car. Batches of 10. Easy to wire up too. I had one on my old ibiza and it cleared in seconds. Cost was around 200 with another 40 or so to fit.

was it easily visible? my moms fiesta used to have the heated front screen, and sometimes when the light shone on it you could see all the little bars in the glass, which I found quite distracting.
