Title: Anyone uprated the turbo on their edition 30 ?
Post by: m4 tky on July 31, 2011, 10:54:38 pm
New to the forum & just wondering whether there is anyone who has uprated the turbo on their edition 30 ?
I've currently got an edition 30 engined lotus elise that i am in two minds whether to sell & buy an edition 30 dsg or whether to uprate the turbo on the elise for a bit more fun & keep me entertained a little longer !

Do a search for JonnyC and have a look for his Ed30 build thread.

Also search for K04 Hybrid.

Hang on

You have a lotus elise with an engine capable of <360hp with minor mode, so 320hp/ton+ and your not excited by it but you would be with a heavy hatch back, that doesn't make sense. You must be easily over 320hp/ton with a chassis capable of using the power, i'dont really get your rationale  :rolleye:

So around 370hp per ton :driver: to get a golf to that output you would need more than 500hp which equals LAG by the bucket load.

325hp seems around stage 2 power output. Have you considered the fuel pump.

Persnally i think big turbo conversion would ruin your car.  What about a shot of nitrous like hurdy did, only don't go as nuts lol

Its got the uprated fuel pump , the car was turned down via the map when i first had it converted , a bigger map is available but i dont know whether to go the whole hog & do the turbo
Its either that or sell it , boredom is starting to set in now !

and that's 370 BHP per ton driven through the rear axel and with a mid mounted engine - doesn't come much better than that and certainly not in the form of a FWD car with 500BHP, not that you could ever get any where near the benefits of 500 BHP through wheels that are trying to turn the car as well as drive them at the same time - UNDERSTEER HELL!!  :rolleye:
