I have used Dave Roberts Physio on Broadway Gaz numerous times for my f*cked up golfers back, they have always sorted me right out, not sure if they are Bupa approved though

If it's a tear you may need more than physio. Make sure you don't have rotator cuff damage or significant supraspinatus inflammation. These may need arthroscopic correction, or at the least, MRI/ultrasound investigation.
Check with your health policy, you may need to see an orthopaedic surgeon before physio.
Fingers crossed it's nothing big

You sound like a doctor.....You'll be getting 350BHP out of a KO3 next like bacillus does.....
Its not fair you lot irradiating your ECU's with MRI scanners and other trickery...

fingers crossed indeed, at this point I've only seen my GP and he has suggested physio as a first call, but he seems convinced its a muscular tear although it doesn't feel that way TBH

Yup. I tore a muscle while lifting at the gym a while ago. Persevered for months with a niggle, ended up seeing a colleague shoulder specialist. He operated in march, lots on inflammation, but it's improving. Recovery can take 12months post op. Funny how we often assume "it will settle down" but occasionally it doesn't.
If your GP has had a look, you're probably on the right track, a good physio can perform mobility checks & get a good idea of which parts are affected. Shoulders are amazingly complex.

You havent done your supraspinatus have you? Why does your GP think its a muscle tear? Im a Physio over in Blackburn by the way!!

not sure really pal, just going off the GP's advice, its been niggling for quite a while, then there was a definate pop while shoulder pressing at the gym about 8 weeks ago and its been troubling me since, although I get no pain as such while at the gym now

I'm thinking ASAD, Joe, sounds similar to mine.

But as Kalu & Richn83 can attest yesterday, I know surprisingly little about cars. Great with eyes, useless with shoulders

A pop could suggest a tear. Depending on the size of the tear, they sometimes do heal by themselves! Could also be a tear within the tendon which should settle. I would avoid doing repetitive overhead actions if you can until you see someone about it! :happy2:

Also, load yourself up on anti-inflammatories (if you can take them)
