Title: Central locking

Hi.Having a problem with passanger side locking.It won't unlock sometimes.Anyone had the same problem? If so what was the fix?

Chip, sounds like you have a faulty door lock, I've just had the same issue sorted under warranty. Your first step is a VCDS scan.

There is a risk that, left unsorted, the intermittent fault will eventually become permanent so attack it now.

Hi I have the same identical problem in my 2008 jetta in the right rear door.  Is it something which has to to with soldering as in the mk4s?

If you read the link above, you'll find it's usually the door lock mechanism. This isn't a soldering fix, it's a replacement motor in most circumstances, and quite common. If you have warranty cover, go see your dealer, if not, see your local independent or find a breaker who has a lock mech
