Title: Nay's mk5 cream inside!
Post by: P90NAY on August 04, 2011, 01:37:55 pm
i saw a mk5 on piston heads before you knew it....
(https://www.mk5golfgti.co.uk/forum/proxy.php?request=http%3A%2F%2Fdaz.co%2Fmedia%2Fu237%2Fparksinho%2Fmababy.jpg&hash=8142c1d362c2667a1ae34d1e3f399f2a5d15caf7)

due the car previously having an accedent on the right hand side there was no uprated speaker on the drivers door... thanks to ebay i managed to get hold of a set of focal speakers.

(https://www.mk5golfgti.co.uk/forum/proxy.php?request=http%3A%2F%2Fdaz.co%2Fmedia%2Fu237%2Fparksinho%2Fe2359804.jpg&hash=942f8b49d845d882671cb55428447ee72b0cc6c6)

i then used the passanger door as a template...

ready to be covered :)

i then got hold of a set of pressed plates :)
(https://www.mk5golfgti.co.uk/forum/proxy.php?request=http%3A%2F%2Fdaz.co%2Fmedia%2Fu237%2Fparksinho%2F6014fd6c.jpg&hash=1dfd7618ad4231550cbd2e333b0a9087ffdd12c1)

ordered another pressed plate for the rear... needs spraying in gloss black when i have my bonnet resprayed
(https://www.mk5golfgti.co.uk/forum/proxy.php?request=http%3A%2F%2Fdaz.co%2Fmedia%2Fu237%2Fparksinho%2F3ffdc439.jpg&hash=bee1f88764a4452e964b181e95adc0614feb2356)

took the engine cover, battery cover, coolent cap, washer cap and fuse cover off, i then decided to take the reccess off the washer cap and the fuse box so i got out the grinder and sandpaper ;) ready for flocking
(https://www.mk5golfgti.co.uk/forum/proxy.php?request=http%3A%2F%2Fdaz.co%2Fmedia%2Fu237%2Fparksinho%2F8575cd34.jpg&hash=99d256b4c7187323acc6aa0b333acebbb7ebceae)

oops off came the bonnet and a new one appeared :S with the badge reccess already smoothed out (needs spraying)

(https://www.mk5golfgti.co.uk/forum/proxy.php?request=http%3A%2F%2Fdaz.co%2Fmedia%2Fu237%2Fparksinho%2F0278a575.jpg&hash=25aa84cc86ddb4fa530c04742589355f481c63b7)

due to the bonnet not being stretched the old grill was given to my mate to have the bar made same as the bottom one ;)

(https://www.mk5golfgti.co.uk/forum/proxy.php?request=http%3A%2F%2Fdaz.co%2Fmedia%2Fu237%2Fparksinho%2F50f29240.jpg&hash=99b5ac3209a794d10c4a9fd965cbdbbcd4a2c445)

Looked at this quite a bit at Awesome at the weekend,
Loving the mods so far, as hate the bad boy bonnet, and the new rims are so much nicer than the Bentleys.
Look forward  to seeing where you go with it now.
Little retrimming on the interior parts and you will have a show winner every time with that mate. :happy2:

That interior is something special mate, I can see it's leather in parts but how have you done the console and handbrake, are they standard parts?
Keep up the good work and I'll hopefully see it at a show soon.

John

not sure yet mate, may try swap it for an ED30/R32 and go for power. KO3's only good to 300bhp and after having a M3 300bhp isnt enough

well looking at the New JBS Attack software it shouldnt be that bad.

I'd rather an ED 30, but an R32 for the noise

I like where you're going with this

Handles look great darker.

Random question though, all those bits down in the foot well, are they painted or trimmed in leather?

small update....

finally got round to having the leather on my dash reglued.... due to the leather already been stretched ive had to have a piece stiched in... so i had it done in cream to put my own touch onit! i also had my drivers seat stretched and restitched like new. i havent got pics of the dash and seat before i had it done only this one you can just about see how bad the dash and seat is and the wear on the drivers side!

i also had the rear parcelshelf pillows reglued aswell. ive got a few cheeky tricks up my sleeve also to put my own touch on the interior! ;)

(https://www.mk5golfgti.co.uk/forum/proxy.php?request=http%3A%2F%2Fdaz.co%2Fmedia%2Fu237%2Fparksinho%2Ftrax_pictures_201120127.jpg&hash=a90259d93d67bb2654e227613f3dcb3de78eb158)

and what the dash is like now.... pics of the seat tmoz! (ignore the black dot on the camera my iphone is pooped)

Love what you are doing mate. You have a great base to work on. When I first saw the photo's online I loved it, but seeing it in person it seems the last owner lost interest/love for it, and some of the details suffered for it.
If you keep up the work that is going on then you should have a beast of a show car for sure! :happy2:
