Title: Bits I need to retrofit RNS
Post by: RoMocop on August 07, 2011, 10:53:41 pm
I am thinking of upgrading my basic rcd300 to the rns510 sat nav unit at some point. I was just wondering what other bits I will need apart from the unit. Will I need to buy a shark fin aerial or similar? Cheers.

Nope. Just the gps antenna. Potentially the radio antenna adaptor but given the cost (£26 when I last looked a few years back), you go without this.

Might be worth getting some sticky pads to stick the antenna. Under the centre diffuser is the best place.

the radio antenna adaptor is £15 on ebay . you may need a new can bus gate way depending on the year of your car
