Car is due its first service tomorrow.
It has 5700 miles on it and they said I can wait for it as it will only take 45 minutes.
Does this sound right????
What should I expect from a first service.
The car is on a 3 year service plan, so hoping they do what they are suppose to do, sometimes feel if you are not paying they just rush it through.
-
They will change the oil and check the obvious stuff like bulbs / wipers etc and thats all for a minor service.
-
took my garage 2 & 1/2 hours to do my minor service at the weekend...

I think his garage were having their lunch and a nap while changing his oil!

Think the details are on the VW service page on website, its oil oil filter and basic checks which they say includes a drive, really shouldnt be more than 45 minutes.

Yeah, dude... 'should' being the operative word.
Didn't mind, gave me more excuses to poke around the Golf R demo they had.
-
It took me about 2 and a half hours and I had to find the right tools for the oil filter canister and had the sump about 4 inches above my face! so I think they must have been having a sarnie like UB7RM said.
Not bad having a look at the R though to pass the time, shame they did offer you a drive.

Nah, it was in the middle of a group of cars and when I suggested a demo should be able to be driven, the salesman seemed to go in a huff with me!
plus it's about 20 grand more than I can afford...

Went today and guess what?
They took 45 minutes!
Impressed with the service I got, very helpful.
Must admit was surprised, thought I would be there longer.
