I personally think its a disgrace but I would like to hear everybodys views.
A riot for a reason or an excuse to loot?
:popcornsoda:
-
Looks like an excuse to smash, burn and steal! Disgusting behaviour! :sad1:
-

Completely agree
-
It's apparently spreading to Leeds too.
W@nkers :fighting:
-
F**kin idiots. It's got nothing to do with what happened in Tottenham, just an excuse to loot and destroy. I live in North London and if they come anywhere near my car I'll kill 'em.
-
The media are trying to make the 'locals' say its the Governments fault and people are upset.
The way I see it, most of these people are unemployed which we pay for, sit around drinking doing drugs smoking, having children.
Whilst we go to work for them to do this, then they smash up peoples livliehoods in the shape of businesses and employees workplaces.
Come to our houses, the working classes, and steal our cars and rob our houses.
If anybody should be angry it should be us.
Never bite the hand that feeds!
-
I just want to state that not all unemployed people are like this just the scroungers and benefit gang.
I was once unemployed but it didn't make me go and burn and loot.
-
As far as I'm aware it's all :jumping: in Birmingham.....nothing has actually happened yet, but they are moving into the side towns 'so I hear'
As if there are not enough day to day issues to be dealing with, wiithout this too!!
-

Apparently there are 7 year olds getting involved.
WTF where are the parents? :fighting:
Looting probably.

Totally agree with the army comment.. Should be a full on curfew and any cnut caught roaming the streets wearing a hoodie and scarf round his face should have a .50 cal buried into his groin.. :fighting:

Jut watching the News...................it's a F**KING JOKE!!!!!!!
Reporter "There are people looting, shops, stores.......yet you stand there and do nothing?"
Office "We are here to restore peace.....and try to hold the line and contain what is happening. Everything is caught on CCTV and arrests will be made in due course"
W**KERS!!!
-
We have no one to shoot the fookers, we have just laid off all our coppers and troops. It wont end until someones child dies. :sad1:
-
Trouble is if they do anything they are seen as causing the problems if they don't do anything they didn't do enough.
No win situation!
Water cannons with a tracer in which attaches to the skin, hair, clothes etc etc so they can catch them later!
Or Napalm, that tends to work quite well.
-
We have no one to shoot the fookers, we have just laid off all our coppers and troops. It wont end until someones child dies. :sad1:
Then it will be the Polices fault not the 'criminals'!
-
Water canon that is filled with Acid instead. Works two fold. Melts the little f*ckers who are causing trouble and also melts all the rubbish that has been chucked everywhere. So it's a win win situation
-
Someone will die soon though, no doubt. Especially with all the fires kicking off and no Fire Brigade to put them out (not that I blame them)..
-
Get the army in with the riot gear, it'll end quickly when their getting cracked with a hickory stick. Police are to scared to use force for fear of being reprimanded and thats not on.
-
Haha or a short half life high intensity radioactive substance that I have just invented in my mind.
Bit of long term issues and unable to breed!
-
I have no doubt that if this escalates any further then the Army will be involved in some way.. Like you say Sy, that'll soon sort them out.. If anything, it will allow the Fire Brigade in to do there thing. Otherwise we're going to see historic and listed buildings going up in smoke soon enough..
-
Bring in the Army give everyone a warning of say 5mins to get off the streets after that open a can of whoop ass :fighting: :fighting: :fighting:
They need to be treated the same way they are acting, Like a bunch of animals :fighting:

-
Come on people 99% of the time.........the honest guy never wins!!
I certainly think we should have guidelines in place for these situations < surely this now become more than a f**king police stick incident? or are they just playing to write up there reports tomorrow out of there black books and see what comes of it......!!

I did Ben, utter car-hunts. What do they actually believe is the principle behind doing it and what it will achieve as a collective message?
I wonder if there was any planning behind it with no permanent Head of Police Commissioner in place at the moment and with Cameron out the country, Police forces at low and stretched figures?
- Not that the majority of the looters know who those people really are or have enough braincells to time it so well.

They need to close the social network sites down, block mobile phone usage, then deploy riot officers and army so they have no idea they're coming, then turn all journos footage off and start smashing the scum up.
Wtf, all over some guy who thinks its ok to shoot at the police. Ridiculous. The worst thing is people setting fire to shops, when people are living above in flats retarded

What the Public don't know is that every Police officer carrying shields and batons wearing helmets (PSU Trained officers) do it voluntarily. They cannot be made to do this training. PCSO's that have been recruited cannot do anything in these situations. The Police will struggle due to lower numbers and no recruitment either. Hopefully the Government will reconsider its cost cutting in the Police now
-
Hopefully the Government will reconsider its cost cutting in the Police now
Hopefully the Government will reconsider its cost cutting regarding everything they have done, not just the Police!
All they are doing is wrecking the UK :sad1:
-
What most people dont realise is that every Police Officer wearing riots helmets carrying shields (PSU Trained ) have volunteered to do this training. They cannoit be made to do it. The replacement of officers by PCSO's over the last few years has reduced the numbers of police on the streets. PCSO's cannot tackle this as they are not trained or even asked to deal with confrontation. The Govt have been reducing Police numbers and asking Constabularies to reduce spending. Media have been slagging the police off for years and this has led to a lack of respect by youngsters.............WELL LOOK WHAT IT HAS LED TO
-
That shop on fire in Croydon was the Reeves furniture store ...140 years / 5 generations of family run business up in smoke.
Those who are seriously into VWs will recognise the name, as it's the family business of Maurice and Trevor Reeves, owners of the awesome red Mk1 GTI that famously beat Tiff Needell round Bedford and kicking plenty Of expensive butts and machinery at a track day near you.
Spoken to Maurice a few times in the past loves his car and thoroughly nice man. Even now in his 80s I think he still plays with the Mk1 and Mk2.
Feel really sorry for them seeing their business destroyed by complete idiots.
-
Bring in the Armed Forces is the cry................. What rules of engagement? We can't do f'all in Afghan without absolute proof of life being endangered. We are really hand tied.
Imagine all the ambulance chasers glee when they can start sueing the MOD and its individuals on behalf of their clients, who know the law.
Also we are going through a major round of redundancies, what do we say? Sort out that lot, and when you are finished collect your P45?
Society needs to take responsibility for its actions, and parents need to get involved, and start metering out their own punishment, rather than getting an Armed forces person, who is worried about his future (family, job etc).
Ps
from Small acorns etc.

I totally agree Dave, the problem is their parents have already failed them by ignoring a decent upbringing for their children. The conversation will go something like " I hope you have not been getting involved in all the rioting" No Mam! i have not been down their, but my mate was, and he says you can have a Plasma for £30. Son that's good to know you has not been involved, is there anything else we can have off him." :rolleye:
There is no excuse for this kind of behavior, but most of these kids have not much of a future anyhow. Our teenagers are the main ones suffering in the current economic climate, and we help them by cutting out of the budget, the little support they got. :stupid:
I happen to agree with the need for Austerity at this time, but it does create a dog eat dog mentality, and every man for himself.

i live 5-10 mins from clapham junction and went out last night to have a look and it was simply carnage, they were left to their own devices with no police for about 2 hours while they took out every worthwhile shop from the station down to the start of northcote road
loads of local residents just stood watching in amazement, the crim's had cars parked up the side streets and were just going back and forth loading them with goods, it was just a free for all
will try and get some vids up later, but mental stuff

According to the news they were at it in medway where i live as well

They have cancelled the england game. I best get a refund

Where in medway?
This situation is an absolute joke.
-
Gillingham. They smashed up lloyds, and wicks. Apparently it was 15 guys who arrived by train
-
These people are scum.
It will be interesting to see if people will come together to sort this out if homes are targeted rather than shops. I wont be sitting around if anything happens to my property or my estate.

There are flats above the shops that are getting burnt down.
Ok so all the news stations are reporting the Police are struggling to cope and they are over stretched but they are refusing to call in the army or atleast ask them for assistance. Ok now I appreciate the police are doing all they can and they are doing they're best but surely someone needs to put an end to this now and due to all the politicaly correctness and police officers worrying about losing theyre job if seen to be to harsh they need outside help.
What the hell is going on TV and asking parents to keep they're children at home and saying we will arrest you after we have looked at cctv going to acheive :rolleye:
-
Yeah you are right about the flats above. Just suprises me that the people living in the area havent teamed up to try and stop it. Heavily outnumbered i suppose.
I read something about a turkish community in an area in london facing off against the rioters and stopping them.....fair play to them.
-
Disgusting behaviour.
We are trying to recover from a recession so people are already struggling. All we need now are businesses destroyed by local scum!
-
You know that exploding dye in stolen money bags..can't they just drop a load on them from a chopper, then pick em up over the next 2 weeks.

Yes they are considering it. Hope they have the new ones we have were you can drop cnuts from 1m with them

....Wholeheartedly agreed!
What concerns me is that if a rioter gets killed, then the Police will get blamed and prosecuted. The current laws are crazy.
-
What's a batton round?
Just watching the news, apparently according to the local slicked back chav girls it's 'the conservatives innit', when asked but on your own doorstep local people they said 'we wanna show the rich we can do what we want' by rich I believe they mean 'working class' and I would be quite happy to show them they can't do what they want!
These scum, yes scum of the earth, probably don't even know who the conservative leader is or anybody else in government for that matter.
Anyone seen the film K-Pax with Kevin Spacey?
Quote 'everybody knows the difference between right and wrong'
They know that they are wrong, and I believe they will have some problems now in the community when they try to buy a Pizza from Dominos which theses girls had smashed up and looted.
The shop owners need to be strong in these areas and put sales and profits aside and ban them and their families.
They looted a baby clothes shop and just threw the clothes into a tree.
I'm sitting here and I just can't put into words my anger.
16000 police tonight so let's see how tough they are now.
Loads of CCTV pics up now and arrests made.
-
Declare a curfew. 10:00pm
Anyone out after that gets 2 to the head and 1 to the chest. Sorted.
-
The problem I have is that the system lets us all down, the punishments aren't really that. Most will get off with a slap on the wrist and they know this. What deterrent do these scum really have? Give the Police more teeth, let them use suitable force without reprisals, give them harsher sentencing....or just round the f*ckers up and put them on a plane to Afghanistan and let them fight over there doing something useful.
Im seriously pissed at all these assholes!
-
What I fail to see is why the BBC hasn't interviewed a 'rioter' to ask them why they're doing this. It was a good demonstration which was taken over by opportunistic looting.

They've just done Barking and Ilford as well. The police has closed up all the shops etc there. JD Sports has been looted, as has a jewellers.
Hope they don't come near me!
-
I can't understand why the police aren't able to stop this.
Sad to need the army to stop kids . :ashamed: . .
-
Hopefully following this we can get some laws giving the Police proper powers to deal with scum like we have roaming our streets every day. These recent incidents are just them all working together in gangs. Police should be allowed to meet force with force , we are restricted due to too many worries about losing our jobs. Look at the recent drunk who got pushed by and hit by an officer who eventually died , officer is due to face charges ! How does this effect policing ? Too many cameras , cctv , camera phones etc. The media have made the Police over many years to be bad guys........................WE ARE NOT
-
The police havent got the numbers and the youths arent bothered by them anyway. They would be alot more wary against the armed forces applying riot control. The police still need to take the lead, but they are not willing to accept the fact that it is to large and widespread for them to control now.
Its simple, use the manpower and kit of the forces to block the rioters in, and send the police in to make the arrests. Thers no shame in admitting its t o much to control, if anything does this not show that removing 6000+ officers from the beat is a ridiculous move.
Also its still flaring up in gillingham wear i am. Primark is on fire in the town centre
-
I can't understand why the police aren't able to stop this.
Sad to need the army to stop kids . :ashamed: . .
You really have no idea do you ! The Police are way too restricted in every way possible , we have 30000 PCSO's who cannot be used in these circumstances , if we had recruited Police officers they would be used.............Reason...........TOO SAVE MONEY !
-
Every thing is about saving money now. :fighting:
-
We do not punish anywhere severely enough in the UK. These looters and rioters know they are unlikely to be imprisoned hence what is the deterrent ? Police can arrest but what do we do with those arrested ? The Cells are full and so are the Prisons ! The Country has become complacent as far as law and order is concerned and it is coming back to bite them . Police officers are human beings and have to consider their safety together with what is going on around them .To arrest one person takes the arresting officer , another officer to escort minimum and another to drive the van to get them to the cells. A Custody Sergeant to authorise detention and then some one to look after the prisoner. If only we could tie them up/handcuff them together and leave them secured and move on we would soon sort out the problem. We have to consider their safety human rights etc etc etc !

Apache with the 308 firing, watch them run
I was thinking the same thing!
As above, PCSOs are useless - Govt way of saving money and a similar thing happens in the NHS with nurse practitioners, ACPs etc. It's a shortcut solution to a longterm problem and it doesn't work.
I think it was on the news about how the Army isn't adequately trained to deal with things like this - it's very different to the combat environment in the Middle East.
What we need is Batman!
-
That's the problem - Human Rights.
The second they commit a crime and are caught in the act by the police they should lose all human rights. The police should be allowed to Handcuff them to a Lamp post, Railings etc give them a good shoeing with their Batons and then move on. They are then left there till they either chew their arm off to get away or they die
Cnuts the lot of them :fighting:
-

Every unit before deploying to northern ireland, iraq and afghanistan will under go riot training as part of their overall training packages. Even as engineers we did it, the infantry guys do it even more so. We work iin tandem with the NI police forces during marching seasons to maintain public order so i wouldnt say we arent trained to do this, they just dont want to show they have lost control
-
I know the guys deployed in NI were riot-trained but from I think it was the BBC News this morning, they stated that the army were not trained for this sort of thing.
More scaremongering I suppose.
-
They are Kicking off in Wolverhampton at the moment. Not sure to what extent yet but police are dealing with it according to Sky.
-
My company's Birmingham office have just been advised to go home.
-
I'm all for the Army kicking some ass, but that is the problem.... What force can they actually use on these tw@ts other than pushing and shoving? (which obviously aint going to do a thing with this scum).. They can't exactly go spraying bullets everywhere (as much i'd like them to).. :fighting:
-
I looked out on the destruction. Smashed windows, cars turned upside down, a bus on fire, people running scared, police unsure what move to make. . . .
I turned to the wife and said 'Chin up darling, you did your best, but maybe I should park the car!'
-
Just remembered the USAF currently have 10 A-10 warthogs deployed at RAF Mildenhall on a pre afghan work up excersise. Maybe they should consider using these scum as practice.
For those not familiar with an A-10
-
I think with a few Warthogs and a couple of Apaches the problem would soon disappear. :happy2:
-
The whole thing is a joke, if you watch the way the police deploy they start at one end of the street ad work there way towards the protesters, instead of having the other end blocked off so they can contain them. The simple amswer to the problem is issue a public speech by the pm on all tv stations revoking all human rights acts to anyone involved who is caught committing these crimes. Once this is televised then give the police the authority to use the minimum force to restrain and control the situation! Once the police have full authority I can guarantee they will use the force necessary to stop the riots. Either this or what do we do wait until it spreads throughout the country just for the thrill of a riot for these scumbags! They are making a wrong decision already tonight, pulling police from other forces when they may be needed there if it kicks off which it will if it carrys on.
-
Another problem is................Sorry for going on but
Of those 450 arrested (The ones arrested in Tottenham) most will have been charged and may have been before the courts. How mnay of those will have been remanded in custody , very few i would imagine as there are no prison places. They will be out again on the streets doing the same and will have more of a grudge with society.....Hope not but 28 years dealing with these scummy ferrell bunch say otherwise
-
Just been announced that the IPCC inquiry has found no evidence that Mark Duggan opened fire on Police Officers... :popcornsoda: Can't see that is going to help matters for the next round of riots tonight.. :scared:
Personally, I couldn't give a sh*t whether he opened fire or not. He had a shooter (why?) and as far as i'm concerned should be put down and will be no loss to society.. :fighting:

I've been in London all day (Popular, bethnal Green, Highbury and Hackney) and was only this afternoon going home in North Mare Street and Morning lane you could see the aftermath of shops shut and windows boarded, esp bad as the big tesco's are like it. But on the radio and twitter hearing/reading that kentish town has kicked off and the A123 is shut due to an incident and an unsafe building being pulled down in barking.
At lakeside they have had old bill there all night and the big electrical stores in the retail have had lorries in all day moving out stock as we're the nearest shops to be done as Romford and Dagenham got it last night.
IMO, knee cap them with battons and water cannon them, the italians and other EU nations do it so why can't we?? Esp as we all adhere to the same human rights acts etc.
Keeping my car locked and hidden til this dies down.
Edit:
Also I've noticed not alot of it is being reported on so the extent of this is far worse than what we are seeing on the news as stuff in Romford and Southend never got reported, only the really badly effected areas are
-
I live in North London and the police sirens have been going off for the last couple of hours now. Just been down to the local shops to get some fags and they are all closing early - off licence, restaraunts, pubs all closed. These little f**kers need to be taught some respect. I'm all for using rubber bullets on them. Just hope my wheels will be OK.
-
The IPCC woman is on now saying that the prick with gun who got shot didn't fire his gun.
That's really going to make things better isn't it.
TBH it doesn't matter to me he had an illegal hand gun tough law I'm afraid, he got shot.
All the pictures I have seen if him he was doing that silly gun sign with his hands.
Like someone else said why can't we do what Italy and France do?
Has anyone got a different opinion about all this or is the feeling the same across the board.
-
Oh sorry just seen a picture of him not making a gun sign!
-
Just wondering why they shot him dead, couldn't they have shot his arm which had the gun in or shot his knee cap or something?? I've never shot a real gun so can honestly say I wouldn't know how hard that would be...
But these riots have nothing to do with that now, its just being used as a front to hide behind for looting
Edit:
Just found this and it is hilarious of how stupid some people are!!

It's not as simple as that.
Years ago Armed Police were trained to "Shoot to Incapacitate" and left the "Shoot to Kill" to the Army. Then the threat of Suicide Bombers came more prevalent and the amount of officers getting shot by wounded criminals was rising. So they changed tactic and now they get trained to shoot for the centre of the visible mass and, if a suspected suicide bomber, the head.
You never ever shoot to wound someone. Once someone's shot and their adrenalin kicks in or they are on drugs, drunk, in a crazed state then they become far more dangerous. As the saying goes a wounded animal is far more dangerous than a dead one. Their have been the odd occasion where a police sniper has shot someone's weapon out of their hand etc but it is extremely rare and it is not something a guy with a Pistol or an SMG can do from 5m away. He has to think about his aim, the background (i.e risk to civilians) how many rounds will be necessary, wether or not to issue a warning and if in doing so he puts himself or others at risk. He has to do that all in a split second which is why it really really fcuking annoys me when dickheads sit behind desks and objectively look at what else the officer could have done. Half the time those doing these investigations have never faced the working end of a gun let alone been shot at so have no idea what sort of pressure the officer is under at the time.
This f*ckwit that was killed i have no sympathy for. He shouldn't be carrying a gun plain and simple. There is no need in our society for a civilian to carry a gun unless they are up to no good. All the officer that opened fire has to prove is that, in his own mind, the cnut made a move in which he honestly believed his life, the life of his colleagues or the life of innocent citizens would be put at risk and he took appropriate action to remove that threat. Using no more force than was necessary and was appropriate. The military have to be able to do the same. A lot of people don't realise this but the minute a firearms officer discharges his weapon in the line of duty, even if they don't kill someone, they are immediately suspended from duty until the investigation is carried out.
I feel sorry for Duggan's family but only for the point that he has brought hurt on them by his own actions. If the police did just decide to assassinate him (which i would be extremely surprised at) then they will be found out and punished. But in all honesty the only people that know exactly what happened are the officers and the victim. The victim is dead so the officers have to be taken at their word unless evidence to the contrary is found. It must be pointed out as well that at no time have the police said the fcukwit opened fire.

I make you right he shouldn't have had a gun in the first place and if he was a threat then something had to be done. The outcome is unfair on his family but it was through his own actions that this was the outcome.
I've probably just watched to many films and played to many games to think you can safely dis arm someone with a shot and as you say with a pistol or SMG at close range there isn't alot of hope of doing that.I didn't know your instantly suspended once you've shot your weapon. I thought there would be a ton of paperwork to fill out but suspension seems a bit harsh as I would've thought any officer who fires a weapon would do it to protect himself and/or fellow colleagues and the general public but, on the other hand i suppose it is a way of making sure that using a fire arm is the last option.
-
if you have an illegal fire arm in your car then be prepared to be shot and killed by the police.
It's illegal, and a pistol servers one purpose
tough ! i have no pity, feel free to flame

They started rioting at about 4pm, could see them winding up for it from about 2pm,
Kind of fizzled out by about 9pm, don't know if it started again after.
We have had our shifts extended to 12 hour days minimum, I was on for 17 hours yesterday and am back on 3pm today.
The rioters did about 15/20 shops in total, (one of them Clintons cards.....?)
Quite a few arrests,probably about 40 before I left.
They really need to close down this blackberry free messaging thing though, free messages to every contact, should be the first thing to stop.

Three people mowed down and killed trying to protect their business!
http://www.thehindu.com/news/international/article2343019.ece
That is shocking. :surprised: :fighting:
-
.
I heard a recording of a girl saying that the rioting was fun and she hoped there was more. I wonder if she'd think the same if someone came round and torched HER house!
I see on the lunchtime BBC News that permission has today been given for both water canon and rubber bullets but that the senior Police guys want to run things "the British way" and not use them unless their officers are under threat of their lives. How pointless is that!! The rioters are miles ahead of the authorities in terms of how their behaviour doesn't conform to the 'rules of engagement'. "Oh, we don't know how to deal with fast moving crowds" < Duh!!
-

Apparently they need to give 24hrs notice to be able to get it
-
so the police are to blame for shooting an armed man and now the police are to blame for not doing enough to the looters & rioters,Too many do gooders is the problem there was a woman on lorraine this morning saying its down to them not having anything to do,poverty,no jobs and they dont get the same opportunities they dont know the meaning of the word poverty there all running round in nike air trainers
-
they also said there going to fill it with Smart water that shows on them under a uv light

I do. :innocent:
Problem solved.

they also said there going to fill it with Smart water that shows on them under a uv light
which i believe is often the norm...and useless fact #1 also where the title to Prince's "Purple Rain" comes from.

This is certainly the most sensible and insightful thing I've read about the riots this week -
http://rosamicula.livejournal.com/540476.html (http://rosamicula.livejournal.com/540476.html)
Whatever your opinions are about the people who are doing this, I don't think you can ignore that there is a core problem at the route of this situation. And that's not me being a do-gooder, it's me being a realist.

....It seems to me that the training hasn't foreseen what are surely foreseeable circumstances but I greatly sympathise and am very pro Police.
