Right then...
I currently have Miltek TBE. (Non res.)
I want to swap to Blueflame. Ive read & heard the BF downpipe is 'true' 3" unlike the Miltek?
I dont have any issues with the cat back part of the miltek. The bracket on the DP though has snapped and
has already been welded once.
Ive located a Blueflame 3" decat dp. The plan is to sell the miltek system to fund the rest of the blueflame system.
Do you think there would be a noticeable performance difference in 2.75" miltek & 3" blueflame?
Do I try and be paitient and wait till ive got the complete blueflame system together or would it be worth swapping the miltek DP with BF and getting a connector to my miltek until i have pennies for rest of the blueflame...
Bit longwinded lol but it makes sense to me :signLOL:
Comments appreciated :happy2:

Apparently you may lose a little low end torque with the larger diameter dp.

Something else to think about thanks
Is there any compensation available for the loss of torque with more aggressive mapping?
-
What you lose at the low end is supposedly compensated by increased torque at the higher rpm end.
-
Lower low end torque = better traction.
-
Will it help keep hold of low end torque by keeping 2.75" miltek cat back and just adding a reducing conector pipe?
-
AFAIK Mike the Milltek DP is 3", the Catback is 2.75".
IMO you won't notice any differene other than sound.
For me, you'd be better using the money towards Revo. You WILL tell that difference.
Edit. Just remembered your going Decat.
In which case you will notice a difference :signLOL:
Apparently 13hp to be had (with correct software) Not sure about lost Torque.
Also, it'll be louder.
-
Well deposit is on DP to hold it for a week or 2 may just get a connector to miltek and like you say save for Revo & Diff
If my miltek system sells and part funds a replacement at least its a newer part on the car

i've just put The TBE Decat version on my Golf Gti - 3" all the way back with the 2 resonators. im removing the first one soon.
*The sound is amazing ! (Must let me bed in though before u really hear it)
*The build quality is very good.
*and you can really feel the responsiveness and power from standard.
well mine seems to have a quite abit more low torque compared to standard, as the car now flys off compared to before.
Speak with Nige at BCS he'll sort you out i reckon, the BCS modified downpipe is defiantly a must mate. + Great service and Fast delivery! Just give him a call on: 07970667189
im not sure if he has a Seat system, but if he doesn't im sure he could make one
all in all im over the moon with mine
Joe.

When you in Doncaster again Mike.

Im sure the Miltek on the standard GTI is a 2.75" cat back system although when you go for the edition 30 system it swells to a 3.0" both DPs are 3" for the GTI and edition 30 and the blueflame is a full 3" system for both GTI and edition 30.
Ive had both systems on the same car and with out a doubt the blueflame sounds 1000 times better i loved it ! although i found the low down power on the miltek better and if im honest i prefered the power delivery of the miltek to the blueflame, it was more accessable, in general on a rr it seems the large bore makes more power and the smaller bore makes better torque.
Ive got a k04 now and the power on this seems to be more at the top end, and seems to be lacking the lower torque of the standard GTI me personally ill be going for a 2.75" system to try and keep more usable torque at the bottom end
Blueflame is nice though, the design and layout of the system is better IMO and id say it felt a bit lighter too

Decisions, decisions.
Would you say Blueflame 3" DP and Miltek 2.75" would perform well, especially in regards to keeping hold of the useable torque / power you mention?

Should do mate, thats pretty much what set up i had, all be it with a 3" miltek DP as opposed to the BF and 2.75" miltek cat back, i dont see there being too much diferance between the BF and miltek cats / dps (mine were 200 cell cats), ill probably be running the same again with the edition 30 (3" dp, 2.75" cat back), i felt like i lost something low down with the BF as soon as i went miltek i noticed i got it back, like i said though the BF was noticably better top end, it just really depends where you want the power to be i suppose. Im sure Sunglasses ron Done the same with his K04 and he was getting good times on the 1/4 mile
have you got an adapter pipe to integrate the 2 systems ?

Haven't got the adapter pipe yet.
I may aswell swap my Miltek DP with the BF as Miltek bracket has cracked and get the adapter pipe to mate with my 2.75" Miltek cat back.
Will keep hold of the 200cell Miltek cat and have it flanged into the BF decat DP for MOT time, going to have the DP heat wrapped too.
Thanks for you replies mate
