Title: coilover questions
Post by: SL03 JOE on August 15, 2011, 12:35:14 am
right just a few simple questions

1) when coilovers say it lower 20mm do u measure that from front lip or arch?

2) is 45mm a big drop on a MK5 gti? (E.g. wheels in archs?)

3) would it be possibly to drive a mk5 gti as daily driver with -70mm all round?

4) whats the difference in height between back and front? 10/20mm?

The car is 20mm lower..everywhere afaik.

2) is 45mm a big drop on a MK5 gti? (E.g. wheels in archs?)

45mm is about as low as you can go on standard 18" wheels with 225 tyres without rub.

 3) would it be possibly to drive a mk5 gti as daily driver with -70mm all round? Not without arch work.

4) whats the difference in height between back and front? 10/20mm? No idea.

Thanks mats, didn't realise 45mm was just a big drop on a mk5 gti. My old focus was 80 mm all round :P

Yeah but the GTI is already a decent amount lower than the standard MK5's so in comparison when your dropping the GTI 45mm that would be equivalent to dropping a standard MK5 not on sport suspension 60-70mm
