Gents,
Julian from Balance has recently supplied me with a full Bilstein/Eibach Suspension Set, Rear ARB and WALK kit for the MKV and (sods law) as soon as I have it fitted, he has just informed me that Balance now ACTUALLY have the KCA314 in stock.
I'd asked him about this and at the time I think they were in very limited numbers so I'm not sure if anyone here has tried the kit. If so, any experiences or reccomendations?
EDIT - I've just spoken to Julian and he says we can have them for £130.57 each which is crazy money!!
Unless I hear a horror story, I think I will be going for one at the end of this month.
Regards
Matt

I'm chucking a set on next month. From what I hear they are well worth it.
-
Had it fitted last month.
Can't fault the kit.
Will be having a proper alignment done soon and hopefully a ring trip at the end of sept to put the new mods to the test
-
Any pics of the kit. I seem to remember there being design problems or something like that.
-
moment bitte....

Point to note. The kit may come with a concaved washer (pair of). It is nowhere to be seen on the fitting guide or website FAQs / PDFs Etc
After a call to Whiteline Uk (didnt want to put it in the wron place and effect geometry in any way) it is okay not to fit the washer if not included in the kit, it went above the yellow rubber on mine :happy2:
-
I would be all over this kit if i still had the GTI. :happy2:
-
Interested if this would remove bump steer on a car with TT bottom arms and what ride height ths kit is built for ?
-
So Mike do you mind if I ask what you paid? Is 130 worth it do you reckon?
I take it fitting is prob 1-2 hours plus tracking adjustment?

-
£121 + VAT + £10 p&p

130 sounds a bargain to me then!
Think its made a diff?

Indeed, wonder why the price is different
Have noticed a difference but had the NQSBBK and lightweight battery fitted at the same time so shedded alot of weight, hard to say where the improvement were made.
Car feels really nimble and responsive

:happy2:
glad to see its out.
Just a modified track rod end, and it has rubber sealing (which was the issue/problem TC eluded to)
fancy posting a 'Product Review' in the appropriate section Mike?
Whiteline KCA314 page (http://www.whiteline.com.au/product_detail.php?part_number=KCA314)

Thanks for the pics, Mike !! :happy2:
What about the sealing? German winter proof, Mike?
ps
did your drive shaft touch the frame?
-
No probs!
There is an optional rubber boot, I fitted it to give a bit more weather proofing. Im due to move to Uk by christmas anyhow.
Yep, there has been some intimacy at some point with the driveshaft & the frame :ashamed: lol

^^^^^^^ Just ordered this kit, Mike was it straight forward to fit? Any tips or things to watch out for? and do you need to get alignment after? Thanks for any help :happy2:

I would go for an alignment afterwards as matter of course. Dead simple to fit. I think there is a short vid on you tube of fitting.

I just found the link on Balance Motorsports site. The £130 price is a special until 1st September so now I need to make a decision quick lol.... Mike where are you with the review lol???
I think I will get one anyway, by pure chance my payday is 25th so I will beat the deadline, but I'm onto £2000 this month on the car already.... £1000 2 months before etc. Expensive business lol..
This is the link to the offer at Balance.

^^^^^^^Thanks op for the post, been waiting so long for this had actually forgotten  Mike thanks sent found the vid. and the modding goes on and on :driver:
-
Just ordered mine, after speaking to Julian @ Balance I am looking forward to getting this fitted even more :driver:
-
I almost forgot about it. Julian said he emailed everyone who bought the WALK when the b/s was released but I didn't get it, must've been a group buy mixup
I was going to organise a GB but I only had small window of time to buy and fit it for my 10 days in the Uk I had
-
Let me know how you guys get on!!
Regards
Matt

just wanted to post to say thanks for the two orders we received which we lost money on. Let me explain
We got our invoices through and realised we'd undersold but couldn't work out why as a previous invoice was much lower
It transpired that the retail price of this kit has changed. Whiteline.com.au was listing KCA314 at £278 inc vat
http://www.whiteline.com.au/product_detail.php?part_number=KCA314 which is still not right
the correct UK suggested retail price of KCA314 is in fact £190.80 inc vat
We have amended our website prices to reflect this.
here is a link to the special offer again
http://www.balancemotorsport.co.uk/products.asp?recnumber=108566 (http://www.balancemotorsport.co.uk/products.asp?recnumber=108566)
thanks and sorry for the confusion - luckily we didn't sell too many at the wrong price!
-
Did anyone more try the kit yet?
-
Bruce i fitted this and have to say it's a great mod
As the the name suggests it really does soak up the bumps and makes the steering less twitchy and the need to wrestle the wheel has all but gone
Far smoother handling and feels really planted on bumpy corners
Well worth the money IMO
-
how much lowered is your car?

Any downsides e.g. increased cabin noise or unwanted vibrations ?
-
Absolutely none, it's all good :happy2:
EDIT: Reply #24 in this thread gives some more good info

Julian will be emailing me prices for this and walk tomorrow. I've asked about a group but price if he's up for that. Anybody interested?
-
may be interested in the bump steer kit if its a good price
-
how much lowered is your car?
30mm on H&R springs and B8 dampers :happy2:
-
probably get away without the bump steer kit then. i was told its just for coil overs or heavy drops where the car is on its arse

What drop do you have?
As said previously i noticed a big difference when fitted and mines not on it's arse by any strech of the imagination :happy2:
-
mine isn't lowered. spoke to whiteline via email, balance and jkm and they all said that its not needed if the car isn't lowered a lot .

:happy2: Yeah probably overkill if you're not lowered
-
i finally got around to fitting this now the road salt seems to be done with
need to get wheel alignment sorted as its way out now after fitting this so cant really say if its are an improvement yet as i can feel the alignment isn't right.
im going for a B12 kit shortly so will have the alignment done then
-
So this mod "died" since 2012?
I can only find it for sale in ebay from the US.
