Title: Clutch kit arrived, opinions??
Post by: ni-coilovers.co.uk on August 16, 2011, 06:15:20 pm
I received this today.  The clutch itself looks as new but does the pressure plate look ok to use?  It was a steal at £140 for both so had to risk it and have them.  I would like to see a worn clutch to see the difference and the pressure plate tho this should be good for big miles.

Got it on VAGOC forum.  Guy I bought it from reckons there is little miles on it.  He bought it used like this and then bought a new one next day for £320 so is selling this.  The clutch plate itself has very little signs that it has been fitted.  I havent seen one with 20k miles on it tho or that has been abused to know the difference tho.

Looks perfect, sachs can supply you with specs if you wanted to measure the friction plate for wear, my guess is that it hasnt seen much abuse and even if it had, Sachs stuff is buikt to take it :)

Cheers guys, had to buy it.  I haven't had the standard clutch slip yet with 340lb/ft but this is a just incase item.

I must say im very dissapointed in a Pirelli Revo Stage 2 DSG.  Never did I think it would be as it is.  My friend bought the Silver Pirelli that was forsale on here http://www.mk5golfgti.co.uk/forum/index.php/topic,30734.0.html (http://www.mk5golfgti.co.uk/forum/index.php/topic,30734.0.html).  We have done a few runs 20-140mph on a private road, he is only pulling so his back bumper is in line with my front bumper.  To say the least he got on and ordered a twintake and is getting the revo removed so as autotune that did mine can map his.  Having driven it over 15 miles with some hard driving it defo doesnt have the torque as my K03 stage 2.  The DSG is what is making the difference in the 2 cars.

Now for an uprated fuel pump, K04 would be good but your into big ££ then for all the other bits needed.

Im assuming you have a k03? A pirrelli stg2 should be a lot quicker.

Get it to a Revo dealer to look over the settings, probably something simple.
