Hi Folks,
Has anyone out there had their Monza II wheels refurbished at A1 and had them for a few months/years?
Just wondered how they're holding up as I managed to curb another at the w/e :ashamed: and am looking to get them refurbished shortly.
Just wondered about the durability of the wheels once refurbished.

Anyone had their wheels done recently?
They quoted me £95/wheel - I thought that they were around the £85 mark.

Inflation can be so cruel...

About right for diamond fronts, give or take. Mention the forum as well......and my name. Had a few done there now.
Your cheaper option, just have them painted.

Don't scrimp on wheel refurb i learnt the hard way,I got a price off A1 to get my bbs pescaras done and thought it was a bit high so got them done somewhere else who ruined them and ended up getting A1 to put them right

A1 did my monza's with the black inserts- perfect job :happy2: that was about 2 months ago. I would like to know how they will hold out after a couple of years on the roads. . .

Did you have diamond or painted fronts?
Clean, clean polish, protect.....clean clean clean protect - simple process :signLOL: and avoid kerbs

I bought Greeners' Monzas off him. They had been refurbed by A1. Can't remember exactly how long it's been but approx 3yrs on and they're still fine.

No experience of A1 per se, except their price which put me off so I went to Lepsons in Swindon (cheaper), they are both equal distance from me in Glos. I have to say 6 months on the Lepsons refurb is excellent like new, and their customer service could not be faulted, excellent outfit, v v impressed, I also took along a porsche wheel i though I had bent, they checked it out, tyre and wheel, found it had been incorrectly balanced and sorted it - the charge - Er nothing that will be free sir! How good was that :). From everything I have read on the forums (and I did a LOT of research before i took the plunge) go with either Lepson's or A1 and you will be fine. They both have multiple good reports and recommendations so it will come down to location and price. HTH's John

Jmspear,
Did lepsons give you a spare set of wheels while you were waiting? I believe A1 offer this service.
Thanks.

The A1 wheels I think are standard Golf 16" rims.

If your not in a huge rush Team Dynamics do refurbs and were better priced than A1 when they did my scirocco wheels but they do take a week to 10 days. They supplied me with a loan set of 18's too.
Contact John Blades there for a quote.

Cheers Anil.
I have tried Rimfurbish for over 4 months now and whilst initially they responded to me and said that they would get back in touch when slave wheels became available, I have heard nothing back - and this is after 10s of e-mails and the odd call now! This puts me off - if they don't want the business now, then unfortunately they give me little confidence.
