Hi all,
Just wondering about some tyres really.
I've got Mich PS2 on now but understand they are discontinued.
Anyone used Yoko Prada Spec 2 as they look good value for the money at about £110 a corner. I've had some Sessanta's and didn't really rate them, whilst Toyo R1R's would be a terrible idea at this time of the year (not saying the rest are not summer tyres, but the R1R's are REALLY summer tyres.)
Any advice welcome. Looking for 18's.
Matt

As the R1R isn't to be subjectet to temp's below 5 degrees celsius you are right in calling them summer tyres.
The main thing is that you need to consider 2 sets of tyres, summer and winter. If the car isn't doing loads of miles, daily driver for longer distances every day, the R1R is an excellent choice for summer, and i'm very pleased with the vreds wintrac for winter, Both of course in 225/40-18". :drinking:

I'm on vred's ultrac sessentas and theyre pretty good in the dry and wet (expecially compared to my Toyo proxes 4!!!)

Pilot sport 3's are the best tyre I've ever used

The best seem to be outside of trackday tyres :
Pirelli P Zero (the original, not assymertico etc),Michelin PS2's not 3's, Michelin PSS (the PS2 replacement)
Worth checking old threads this might be worth a read and links, I replaced 4 tyres in may for a Stage 2 car http://www.mk5golfgti.co.uk/forum/index.php/topic,29669.0.html

i cant rate goodyear eagle f1's highly enough! grip the road so well and they were quite good on my mk5 gt170.
That was mapped so it was very very torquey :D
