Title: Who else makes HPFPs??
Post by: tony_danza on March 27, 2009, 04:34:21 pm
Who is currently producing HPFPs for the 2.0T-FSI, I know of AWE, KDM, APR & Autotech, but I have a feeling there may be a couple more?

In particular, is there a European based company, or possibly one in South Africa??

nah, the yanks took the lead with this mod.

Eurojet do one now also, and i think Regal Autosport can get hold of them.

thought you weren't doing any more mods? You wanting S2+????

easy mate to be honest. I was going to do my self but i didnt have a deep enough socket to get the internals from the inside of the pump, so i just paid £50 bucks to get it fitted,

some people say yuo need to set the car to top dead centre before you do it, but when i had my fuel pump replaced under warrantee a couple years ago when it went tits up, they never did that, and when AMD fitted my internals i dont think they did either.

Ill have a search around, there is a good how to guide from mater somewhere. ill post a link

Here's a link to the autotech install instructions - http://www.autotech.com/instructions/i127100k.pdf

I am pretty sure the backdraft one will be either an Autotech or KDM kit re-badged as their own  :happy2:

It is straight forwards to do.

The reason you are supposed to set TDC is so that you relieve the pressure off the pump piston and so when you put it back on you dont risk bending it by having to apply undue pressure to hold in place whilst you re-tighten the bolts.

The only special tool you will need really is a Deep (18mm iirc) socket to undo the nut inside the pump that hold the piston in place. by deep i mean about 20-30mm of space inside the socket.
