Title: Spare key prices

Does anyone know if it is only VW that can program a new key ? Lookers Teesside have quoted me £170 !! :stupid: They have said that its because it has to be part programmed by the VW factory ??

anyone got any experience of this

Hi
I've just been through a similar dilemma
Vw quoted me £185, so I've now found a car key specialist that carries genuine VW keys (blades/fobs/chips) and can cut, program and set for £110
Not only that, but he's coming to my work to do it as he works from a van
He's Swindon based, but I'm pretty sure these types of companies operate all over

Im sure i read on here the other day about timpsons do the keys for £125 programmed. As i need a spare key aswell

I was in Basingstoke yesterday and saw this, big banner out front and one of the pictures was a Volkswagen key!!
Unsure on price though!

Smashing, I will check with the local lock smith to see what hes says but I know i can get spar keys from eBay ?
