I basically get a rear left brake light out error intermittantly and replacing the bulb doesn't help.
And I also get thr air bag light on, clearing the error make it go away for a week or 2.

The airbag one will be the wiring under the seat. Fairly common fault and should be done under warranty if applicable.
As for the the brake light, fook knows, torch it.
-
No warranty left so what do I need to buy n replace?

So to bring this back to life! my airbag light now doesnt go out even after resetting it with vcds.
I have done this fix listed here:
http://forums.vwvortex.com/showthread.php?2815467
on my passenger seat. but still not resolved the issue? any ideas?
-
no one?

Same fault on the same side?
Did the light go out after performing the work in the bulletin? Is there any possibility your work could have become undone?
Check the airbag plug from the seat to loom under the black plastic cap - see if the pins all line up and don't suffer from any sort of corrosion.

My last Octavia had this and had to have the igniter replaced! Luckily I had a warranty as its about £600 to fix iirc :scared:
