Title: Gti seats in a TDI
Post by: stevw1 on August 22, 2011, 05:46:34 pm
Hi All,
Ive just purchased some GTI seats and want them to go into my TDI. Ive searched the "HOW TO's" but cant find an answer.
The problem is the wiring, airbag plugs dont mate-up. Old seats have brown / white / green wires and GTI seats have brown / blue  / black iirc. Can they be adapted ? or chopped and changed ?
Got the rears in no issues front bolt in just wiring issues now showing AIRBAG FAULT
Help  :sad1:

When I put GTI seats in my 04 TDI I bought some proper heat shrink connectors from the dealers and used them, worked great for well over a year :happy2:

Yes Steve you need to cut the plug off with a good length of wire on it and connect brown to brown, blue to green and white to black solder and heat shrink has Matt said :happy2:

Right guys, cutting the plugs off the old seats is no longer an option (SOLD em) How else can this be done ?? Have read somewhere that you can get a resistor off Ebay. Linky please or other options

Get some new plugs from the dealer and swap them.

Once you have them connected you will need someone with VCDS or a dealer to turn the airbag light off  :happy2:
