Title: New Member :)
Post by: Dave_TDI on August 23, 2011, 04:36:54 pm
New member here, bought my first Mk5 yesterday, sadly not a GTI due to me being 21 and insurance would rape me.

Its a silver 1.9tdi S, Its a 5 door due to me having a baby due in November.

I bought it with 76k and FVWSH, All old MOTs etc..

Its a really clean car, i looked at probably over 20 others before i bought this and this one is by FAR the cleanest, theres honestly not a scratch, stonechip or carpark dent anywhere on the car its absolutely immaculate, heres a couple of pics:

The reg even says MKV which is always a bonus :)

I honestly have too many plans to list for this, basically i want the majority of Edition30 bits, a remap, tints, etc...

Just thought id register and say hello, i mainly joined for the for sale section and for advice :)

Cheers,

Dave.

Welcome  :happy2: Sounds like you're going to be doing lots. Might be cheaper just to get an ED30  :signLOL:

Thanks man, i was originally looking at GTIs and GT TDIs but insurance wasnt even a possibility, i got quoted 5k per year on a GTI, its only £850 on this :)

Got some S-Line wheels today for free, genuine aswell but they need refurbing and tyres, tried one on for size:

(https://www.mk5golfgti.co.uk/forum/proxy.php?request=http%3A%2F%2Fimg.photobucket.com%2Falbums%2Fv288%2FDave_a3%2FIMG00878-20110823-1829jpg.jpg&hash=f2ba826dceef0c7d5b80ce6a811a1e11f5821d04)

Seem a bit too wide, no idea why:

Anybody else fitted S-Line wheels before?

They're only temporary, they're being refurbed tommorow in black or gunmetal grey (suggestions?) until i get round to selling them or swapping for Monzas/Pescaras.

They do look a bit wide.

5k is ridiculous, I got mine just as I turned 22 & only paid 1k. Still the same now with all mods declared so I'm pleased

Choose colour carefully, don't just rush to get it done tomorrow.

Disadvantages of living in Manchester (amongst a lot of others) :(

No idea how to multi-quote, so:

@MAXLOAD:   Thanks man :)

@8ILLY & RDFCPETE: My mates going to let me try one of his gunmetal grey ones on tommorow morning off his A4 so if i like the look they will be going gunmetal grey :D

@MAXITROL:  Thanks mate, hopefully mine will be as nice as yours one day!

Anybody got any decent pics of MK5s on gunmetal wheels?
