Title: 288mm Flexi’s long enough to be used with 312mm GTi Brakes??
Post by: G-Lader on August 24, 2011, 07:42:17 pm
I’ve just bought some 312mm GTi front brakes for the wife’s GT TDi.
When they arrived I noticed that the tw@t has cut through the flexi’s when removing them..... :fighting:

Are the flexi’s that come with the 288mm brakes long enough to be used on the 312mm calipers??
After a quick look with the wheel on full lock there seems to be a reasonable length of pipe but thought I’d ask on here first.

Thank you!

Regards,
Des.

Yeah the caliper is the same, but as mentioned, the caliper carrier sits further out to accomodate the larger diameter disc.
So what I'm, trying to find out is if there is enough excess slack in the 288mm flexi pipes to allow the caliper to sit over the 312mm discs without stressing them....
I'd imagine it would be fine but wanted to get some opinions from some of the more experienced member on here who have done this before (sure there will be loads!)

Thanks.  :happy2:
