-
ok thanks for your help, left the car in the golf car park
-
or order a new key from vw but either way its going to cost
-
Brick in the boot and fish it out. Again £££ to replace
-
I have a key on order from the dealer its apparantely still on transit from Germany or Last Monday
-
I'm sure the lines of the RAC lift it up and pop the locks by accessing some battery terminal points under the engine??
Do you have breakdown cover?
-
car now open thanks for everyones help, i had 3 AA vans working on the car in the end. Wife had cover with the aa through halifax reward account.

Ok... I,m gonna say it knowing that I'm old and have no idea..
How do you lock your keys in the boot when its the only set you have.I have to lock my car with the key fob apart from the first unlock which relocks itself after 30 seconds if no entry.

If you use the boot unlock button it's quite easy to lock the keys in the boot, as only the boot latch is released. The other doors remain locked, plus the boot locks automatically once shut again. That's why i only ever use this button when I'm at home & have access to the spares.
-
I will use the boot release button but I'll put the keys into my pocket so there's no danger of them being accidentally locked in the boot.
-
That is how it happened, i used the boot release botton and shut the boot.

You can also lock it with the boot open and could toss the keys in there if that was your bag. Same for the rear doors.
Need one of these if you are in a hurry.

These mk5s are literally impenetrable. I did the same thing a while back, and the only reason why we could get in (after 1.5 hrs of trying every known trick) was because the passenger window was down sufficiently to allow a metal rod to be passed through it and into the boot!

Ahhhhhh... You see I said I had no idea... In my nearly 3.5yrs of MK5 ownership I have never used the boot unlock feature. :chicken:
Cheers all
