Title: Loose headlight
Post by: Ifti on August 29, 2011, 01:06:45 pm
Someone hit my car in a carpark yesterday. No idea who it was etc.
Some marks on the front bumper trim (non-GTI), which isn't such a biggie as I guess I could replace just the corner trim, not the entire bumper.
My main concern is the headlight is very slightly loose. Since my First MOT is due soon, could a loose headlight fail the MOT? It's not loose to the point it moves freely, it just moves a few mm when pushed.

Is there any easy way to tighten this up? Had a look but couldn't find where the headlight is attached to the car body etc. Just wondering if something has come loose that I could tighten up?

Headlight itself is working and functioning normally, only issue is it rocks a few mm when pushed from side to side.

It's probably broken one of the mounting points.

You can buy a headlight repair kit from VW to fix this  :happy2:

Cheers. I think you're probably right. Do the kits come with instructions? Lol
I'm useless at this stuff!  :stupid:
