Title: Drivers door not always unlocking?
Post by: hkp on August 29, 2011, 10:14:11 pm
Has anyone else ever had a problem with the driver's door not unlocking on the remote? It locks fine, although sometimes 'buzzes' a little when locking.

About 1 time in four it won't unlock unless I lock/unlock it a lot of times!

Works fine if I physically put the key in the lock though...

Door actuator perhaps?

It's a late 2007 3 door.

Thanks!

You're door lock module is goosed and its just a matter of time before it stops working under any electrical impulse altogether.  Blade will continue to work.

Its becoming a common problem.

Have a read of my thread: http://www.mk5golfgti.co.uk/forum/index.php/topic,31476.0.html

You'll need a VCDS scan to log any fault codes.

Useful, cheers mate :)

I took it to the Stealers earlier for their opinion, but of course it behaved itself impeccably when I did so!

In fact, it's been good all afternoon now. I love how VW's get scared and start working when you threaten them with a VW tech playing with them!!!  :signLOL:

Even if it's playing well with others, the fault codes should still be stored. Didn't the dealer check the codes? VCDS will reveal them
