Title: Changing bulbs in headliner?
Post by: Betty02 on September 01, 2011, 04:27:43 pm
Got my replacement bulbs today, some nice SMD ones, but how the devil do I get in to change them haha?

For the rear you can pop the whole unit open, the vanity mirror ones can also be popped out with a screwdriver. The front centre ones require the 2 torx screws to be removed. I think you pop open the grille bit towards the rear of the car and that gives access to the screws.

It's the front I'm after, I have plenty of torx but when you say pop of the grille bit I got a little confused lol?

I did mine today, 100% better imo, strange that I haven't got the centre light, is that the festoon bulb?  I have the same set up as yours in the vRS though.

has anybody gone for blue to match the dash lights or a mix of blue and bright white LED's...or would that look daft?

Personally I wouldn't go for blue as the main reason for me going for white is for better "vision" so doing blue kind of defeats the object for me personally!

But then they would loose the novelty value.

The interior look is much improved with white LED's though :happy2:

Do they dim with ignition or just switch off?

The ones I have in mine dim :happy2:

Not sure about the ones in that set but I would assume they would.
