Got my replacement bulbs today, some nice SMD ones, but how the devil do I get in to change them haha?
-
For the rear you can pop the whole unit open, the vanity mirror ones can also be popped out with a screwdriver. The front centre ones require the 2 torx screws to be removed. I think you pop open the grille bit towards the rear of the car and that gives access to the screws.
-
It's the front I'm after, I have plenty of torx but when you say pop of the grille bit I got a little confused lol?

Sorry I was doing it from memory :signLOL:
The bit with the holes in can be prises open, I did mine from the left of the photo (you can just about see the mark)

Good work :happy2: Are you changing the middle one & all the others?
-
are these coloured LED's in the photos, the blue ones?
-
There not blue there crisp white but my phone doesn't capture it properly, I try get some pictures in the dark.
I have the middle one on order to change yes ;) ordering more for the rears now I'm happy they work
-
I got a bit obsessed to the point of changing the boot & even the glove box one. Well worth it!
-
I did mine today, 100% better imo, strange that I haven't got the centre light, is that the festoon bulb? I have the same set up as yours in the vRS though.
-
Yeah it's a festoon, same as boot & vanity mirrors
-
has anybody gone for blue to match the dash lights or a mix of blue and bright white LED's...or would that look daft?

Personally I wouldn't go for blue as the main reason for me going for white is for better "vision" so doing blue kind of defeats the object for me personally!
-

-

all vw's should come with these bulbs for interior lights

But then they would loose the novelty value.
The interior look is much improved with white LED's though :happy2:
-
Good work :congrats:
Such a simple thing but it makes a big difference. I get comments all the time in the dark

Looking at that kit on ebay but what bulbs do you actually get with it Betty? Which ones does it replace on the car apart from the ones in the pictures?? Says its a 9 bulb set
Thanks
Dave
-
Do they dim with ignition or just switch off?
-
The ones I have in mine dim :happy2:
Not sure about the ones in that set but I would assume they would.
