This has been on my list of detailing products for a while but still can't find one that does all this things I need it to. I need it to:
1. Protect the rubber seals round doors/windows from UV rays
2. Help prevent doors freezing in winter
3. Not streak/run in rain
4. Make rubber look like new
The products I have looked at are:
1. http://www.einszett.co.uk/Gummi-Pflege.php (Looked promising but apparently runs in rain and is best for interior seals)
2. http://www.autoglym.com/enGB/product-proddetail.asp?v06VQ=HE (Seems good but no UV protection and doesn't help prevent door freeze. It is also a spray which doesn't seem appropraite for rubbing on narrow door/window seals)
3. http://www.polishedbliss.co.uk/acatalog/swissvax-seal-feed-cat21.html (No UV protection)
Be great to get some advice from people who have been using a product which works well on most counts. Also I am parked outdoors 24 hrs a day so be good to hear from people in similar situation.
Thanks as always,
C

There you go fixed it for you.
I use Gummipflege on all the seals, predominantly the door ones, but not noticed it running in the rain
-
Ah. Thanks for that.
You been using the product for long?
-
You need more than one product.
Use something like 303 Aerospace Protection for the plastics and rubber. Gummipflege is excellent on inner seals and stopping doors from sticking in winter.
-
Ah. Thanks for that.
You been using the product for long?
About a month as not had the car long and decided to get some after reviews i'd read and people's experiences on here (182_Blue uses it iirc)
-
Thanks. Will read up about this a bit more. Those 2 products tick all the boxes I think.
-
Trust me, get Swissvax Seal Feed, nothing else touches it.
-
The Gtecniq stuff is ment to be out of this world for trim seals.
I know the P1 and C1 are incredible! x 100
-
@RussZS That SealFeed sure is expensive. Think I will stroke that off the list purely die to that.
@Keano C1 looks amazing but would say that it is a restoration product really. I may purchase that down the line if things fade really badly. P1 looks great too but I have a bottle of AG SRP sitting here.
I think the Aerospace is ticking most of the boxes. It also means I can use it as a tyre dressing too so can stroke the Meguiars Tyre Dressing off the list (Save a few pennies although the shine level is low). Do you think you could double coat rubber ie Dress with Aerospace for the UV protection then overlay some AG Vinyl Rubber care?
-
AeroSpace is in a different league to the AG trim stuff.
Would certainly not need to over lap it.
Ps. A tip to application is to leave it on wet, and wait for it to dry. It wont leave a streaky finish!

DuPont Krytox. The most expensive and probably the best.

Thanks again.
Also came across this...http://www.cleanyourcar.co.uk/engine-and-exterior/wolfs-chemical-trim-coat-150ml-/prod_911.html
Anyone used it?
@keano Have you appied Aerospace to your window rubbers before? How did you appy it as it is a spray. Would a small sponge do?
-
I just squirted it on a microfibre cloth and applied. :happy2:
Make sure the rubbers have been cleaned very thoroughly first though.
-
Those rubbers don't half get dirty :surprised:
