Title: do all GTIs have highline CECM?

does anyone here know the answer to any of these:
1. do all mk5 GTIs have highline CECM?
2. do all mk5 Golfs with factory fogs have highline CECM?

Central Electronics Control Module

All golf with fogs have high CECM but it depends which one there is a 23byte or 30byte most have the 23bytes version.

Does this also mean there are different type/varsions  of HIGHLINE dash?

or is the just one form of highline < they all do/show the same thing?

They are all basically the same but there is different specs of service schedules i.e Z01 none service schedule or Z02 service schedule.

Iv got an 05 gti with fogs as standard  but a midline display

as far as I understand you can have highline CECM but midline MFD

The CECM and highline dash are not connected.  The only reason you will hear people talk about highline modules with highline clusters is because the highline clocks are capable of making small coding adjustments to the highline modules.

And how do you know if you have 30byte? Is it a VCDS interrogation job?

Is the CECM also what gives the Convenience Menu ?

No the convenience module is a seperate unit and is located behind the glovebox, that gives you yourr convenience menu on the highline and controls all doors, windows and alarm functions.

Having highline, should automatically have the CECM?

how can tell if I have the convenience module/menu? does it give you much more?

Johnny you'll have an extra menu that says convenience and will give you the options for how the doors lock and which and how the windows open??

3 weeks nearly....no car........didn't even think I'd be able to get back in to a golf  (££) 2 weeks of fighting with insurance company....finally have found a middle groupd

  can do mirrors  both side or one
