Well I have now owned my ed30 for a few weeks now and the car feels like it has so much more to give. After a lot of shall I or shant I , which remap to use (revo or superchips) and where to get it done I have now finaly taken the plunge and booked her in (thursday morning)
The company I chose to do it was JKM. To start with i'm gonna treat her to a revo stage1 , a shiney new DV and panel filter with a miltek non res to follow. Cant wait...I'll let you guys know how it goes
-
Your in good hands there. Probably the best tfsi specialist in the country.
Did you not consider the APR map? Think jkm are the only place to offer so many choices :congrats:

I did consider APR and although very good the Revo map does it for me. :driver:

Fair do's

Another factor is Revo have a sale on. £100 off > http://www.revotechnik.com/index.php?mod=show_news&id_nws=72

A good solution, simply add a TBE and stage 2 Revo when you need more :happy2:
-
good luck Simon... The eddy really does deserve stage 1, although I'll see you at Tesco's more often though

Just a small combined spend of £650 then :innocent:
God this forum's bad.......
Simon, read carefully here, or it could cost you :signLOL:

"yeah luv, a tankful of fuel is only £30
My other half hasn't put fuel in a car for years :signLOL:

Well I partly blame you steve for showing me what the ed30 is capable of down the M27 the other day in your red rocket

:innocent:
nothing wrong with a slow Bluefin Ed30

So I took the ed30 down to JKM this morning. I wanted a stage1 remap , a VAG DV (Non Diaphram type ) and a k&n panel filter.
Dropped it off and 50mins later it was ready. Great service. :happy2:
The revo settings were boost7 - timing4 - fuel8 as I premanantly run on 99ron. I could'nt wait for the drive home....
Imediatly after starting there's a deeper exhaust tone. Sounds lovely. So I pull out the car park and decide to go for a spin around the estate. Now I thought the ed30 was fast before the map but now it's a beast. I was really shocked as to how much of a difference it is to stock. Massive torque through the rev range and great throttle responce. I don't know what 0-60 is now but it's quick. On the mororway home she just wants to keep pulling and pulling. Drop her down a gear and off she flies . An awesome car , such a joy to drive.
The next stage for me will be the revo sps switch and a miltek non res...roll on pay day
-
It just doesn't stop!!! As we all know!! Try finding a set of R32 stopper before stage 2! The thing you notice it you will never get the same buzz from stock to stage 1!! You will, however, notice a great deal of difference in the breaks!!

Did they set it up on the rolling road on on the actual road?

It was set up on road mate. He takes it for a drive with his laptop to log the settings etc. Just me being tight and not forking out the extra £50 for the rolling road. When I get my exhaust fitted I will put her on the rollers and see what she's pushing bhp wise :happy2:
-
We often have a rolling road event down there each year simon, so gives you enough time to put some pennies together .. It's a total transformation to the car as you found out the other day.
Drive carefully :happy2:

Is there such a thing as the car bedding in. The car seems to have become more responsive and fuel efficient the more I drive it. Just got back from a long drive and it just seems to be getting used to the new settings - or is it in my imagination?
-
No, my bluefin improved my mpg, as long as I drove like captain slow, of course fast and efficient don't go together on the other hand especially after a remap
