Ive tryed everthing trying to connect this to my ipod nano (old generation) and i phone and it doesnt work with the RNS 510, does this unit as shown in the picture above even function with the RNS 510 or do i need something else ?
Ive also heard that if i connect my 3GS to the rns it wont work in bluetooth mode is this true ?
-
It will function with the RNS510, but it won't display track names or charge newer iphones/ipods that only can charge via USB
-
Mine plays my gen2 Nano just fine.
Also plays my new iPhone 4 just fine
-
But it doesn't charge it :P

But it doesn't charge it :P
True :sad1:
And you cant close the armrest led with it in there :fighting:
-
Cheers guys the problem is how do i access the ipod via the rns ?
When i plug the ipod in i cant use the ipod as when its in the dock the buttons are inaccessable ?
Problem 2 is when i go in to media in the rns it basically tells me that nothing is there
Any suggestions do i need enable something on the rns ?
Thanks

Media > MDI :happy2:
-
Awright cheers, so whats the script with the ipod in the arm rest what do you go in to play that ?
-
Thats not an MDI iPod Dock at all...
Its Media > CD Changer
You'll have 6 available discs. 1-5 are your first 5 playlists, and 6 is all tracks
-
Cheers alex i thought so ! Thats where the cd changer is and i think im right in saying that the ipod dock is basically the cd player ! Ill try again today if i cant get it working ill take the rns back out and make sure everything is conected correctly at the back !
-
Correct
When its out, make sure the earth pin for the iPod dock wire is in the right place also as it has to be moved to sound right on the RNS systems
-
I got it working although the rns needs to be switched off, ipod inserted and then switched back on for it to recognise the ipod is there. If you simply dock the i pod when the rns is on is does not see it??
The sound is really bad too, you were saying alex that this could to be to do with the earth pin being in the wrong position when you upgrade from rcd to rns ?
Is there a diagram available for repositioning the earth or a plug and play connector
Cheers
