Title: Just been Revo'd :)
Post by: Jungle_Faced_Jake on September 08, 2011, 06:59:35 pm
Had stage 1 Revo done on my KO3 GTI this afternoon. Haven't had much chance to really test it yet as it was start of rush hour when I picked her up but managed to put the throttle down a few times in second and third before having to slow down  First impression is that it is everything I hoped it would be. Much more responsive in the lower to mid range where it felt laggy before. Acceleration is much quicker  Now it feels like a kick in the back as opposed to a gentle push  :signLOL:

I also had my ED30 mapped today!! I was fortunate enough to be able to test mine and am very impressed :happy2:

It now pulls right through the rev range and 0-60 is awesome.....

Just been out in her now the roads have cleared. Oooooohhhh....... that was fun  It feels like it's taken a couple of secs off 0-60  :surprised: Probably hasn't but it must have taken at least a second off. Pulls in all gears across the entire rev range. Even pulls in 6th no trouble, no need to drop down a gear. Acceleration is awesome. I'd thoroughly recommend it. Bravo Revo  :congrats:

Its the manual clutches that can't take the torque.  Stage one destroyed my k03 clutch and flywheel

That's exactly why you'll need a new clutch!! DSG can hold more torque.

If i remember correctly the stage 1 took 0.7 seconds off my 0-60 time (k03 Manual)

I've been driving around with the standard map since April when VW wiped the 305bhp GIAC off, and the one aspect i truly miss is not having to drop a gear to overtake fast :(

Stage 1 destroyed your clutch and flywheel ??, my car is a 08 ive been stage 1 for 2 and half years now and only had to replace clutch, and i dont drive slowly, you must of been ragging the fk out of it to destroy flywheel as well ??

No never ragged it. Im on original disks and pads at 53k and 6 years. I was told there were lots of issues with clutches in earlier cars or rather poor flywheels which destoyed the clutches. I do recall post after post of clutch slip though
