I did some logs with the shark stage 1 map installed today. I noticed that when the ignition timing angle changes, I end up with lots of overboost. Has anyone got any ideas as to why this is changing at all, and what can cause this to change so much?
I also noticed that it requests the same fuel pressure as my stage 3 map aswell, and I'm running the OEM pump aswell, and it seems to be coping ok with what has been requested.

Hi mate ,
i have no idea what the timing angle is supposed to be ? ,
i can post up my stage1 log as a comparison if that helps?
but what i will say id your air intake looks very low indeed?
-
what intake is it? i thought mine was fairly low @ 245 g/s

The high boost value is telling the ECU to remove spark advance. ( measured in ignition angle Before Top Dead Centre) the afm and map sensor values seem to match closely so the overboost is definitely happening.
Can you log n75 values Dom?
-
Ok then Dave, I switched to your map to see if the boost wasnt as severe, wasnt the case, now putting out over 2bar of boost :scared: :scared:
heres the 2 logs I did, Maf values are higher with this stage 2 file compared to the shark stage 1 :happy2: its a forge twintake thats fitted. considering most of the time the car runs between 2.5k-3krpm, might be where the smoke is coming from :stupid:

Load is fine, n75 values are fine but if you look at the afm values they match the boost actual values.
Something is causing the overboost and its not the ECU requesting it. Actual boost is contolled by the wastegate which is known good as its new. The wastegate is controlled by the N75 valve which is seeing realistic actual values, but that doesnt mean that the n75 is doing as its asked.
I would swap the n75.
P.s thanks for that log of our stg2, other than the issue we are discussing it looks very nice.

Are both of the above logs from the same map (in your last post) ? What happened in tne top set of logs? Throttle seems to be lifted at 5600ish rpm?
-
Thanks for info :happy2:
Yes, both off same map, but datalogging can be hazardous sometimes  that's why I had to do a second run. Will try and rake a part number out for an n75, might aswell buy one, everything else has been changed! Is it an easy job to do?

Its bolted onto the turbo Dom.
-
Just found a pic of it. Wish I knew last week whilst the turbo was off :sad1:

Drop the car in one day and I can fit it for a nominal fee
