That's an interesting vid. Would have liked to have seen it over a mile run. The ferrari was deffo catching the Nissan.
Me old ibiza would kick a 12.5 with a terminal of 126mph.

Frenchies not too worried about pointless straight lines in an auto with launch control that my gran could drive up the runway :booty:

The Litchfield GTR at Castle Combe on Satdee was awesome. :driver:

Thought exactly the same Alex.. TBH, I initially thought it was over a mile when I started watching it..

No contest :signLOL: would have been good to see 997 gt2rs rather than gt3 for that though.
-
But is said TTRS mapped or not? :innocent:
-
But is said TTRS mapped or not? :innocent:
No no no, that would have been far to easy!
-
Swap the gt3rs with a 997 Turbo S pdk, then see what happens
-
no what you should have said was don't forget Povertys TTRS its the fastest thing on the planet you know

like the day in france you thought you would have ago against one :driver: :driver: :driver:
-
In all seriousness, a mapped S-Tronic TTRS would of been right up there to be fair... :surprised:
Runs and hides... :scared:
-
:signLOL: with a pair of clippers to cut everyones hair at the end of the race :pomppomp:
-
and you think they are quick
[ Invalid YouTube link ]
street driven too :notworthy:
-
The GTR got away great.. its all in the start, do it again and wont the GTR get away even better - doesn't have some trickery where it learns from the previous start and makes it better (or was that a different car)
-

I'd like to see it go straight to an MOT bay after a run and get a years ticket..

Not sure on the GT-R but that's a party trick of the 458 Italia.

Was on 5th Gear.
:notworthy:

yeah it blew up a while ago so he set about making it quicker and he is aiming for a 6.5 qtr mile :surprised:

Thats the fella, so maybe the 458 would get better and match it then eventually take it...
GTR does well though for a datsun.
-
and for a lot less too
-
The Litchfield GTR at Castle Combe on Satdee was awesome. :driver:
Quickest car in a straightline for sure I reckon just watching from the sidelines.
LFA or 458 for me, reckon I would be right at home with either of those two round a track!
-
After the line up was described my bet was on the 458, but that Nissan really dug it's claws in and launched well.
Far play to it beating the yellow Fezza.
-
and for a lot less too
(no one mention that nissan subsidises the costs out their own pockets, shhhhhhh)
A 997 turbo s PDK would have won this race easy if it was there
-
:congrats:
Great find Ben.... I backed the GTR, my 9 yr old son said 458..but he still thinks daddys car is quicker then all of them bless :jumpmove:
-

I'm not having he thinks that kitchen appliance on wheels is fast
-
85PS worth of white goods is amusing trying to overtake. I managed to overtake a Coach and a Tractor last week :surprised:
-
Shame the mclaren wasnt their or some of the old skool supercars.
Would have to be 458 for me though, althought for the money the GTR is an amazing car.
-
CSP Beetle
got to love them nissan gtr s . awesome traction ,look real good, handle mint and dont cost half as much as some of the other cars in that race.

It's all about the noise for me, and the GTR doesn't make any!
The LFA sounds f*cking nuts!
-
Didnt expect that from the GTR TBH, feckin bargain of the century them !
GT3 or M1 for me !
-
LOL at the Subaru.. :signLOL:

The Aventador sounds
-
The Aventador sounds
Doesn't it just mate.. :surprised: The Merc doesn't sound to shabby either.. My old man has the normal C63 AMG and following that is like following a fooking firework display with all the pops and bags,, :signLOL:
That Lambo though is just another level..
-
Agreed those Mercs are pretty special too, I love the pops and bangs they make
-
there really is no replacement for displacement - big feck off V12 kicking butt.
Very impressed the Macca almost beat it tho!
-
I still reckon the GTR is awesome though, and for £35k for a decent second hand one, I doubt you can go faster for less!
Unless its wet! From experience the hard compund tyres they come with are a pig to get up to temp in the wet and they make wet acceleration interesting to say the least!
-
I want to be quicker than the aventador!

Comparing a GTR against most of the others is unfair really, it costs half the price, has twice the seats (fits your golf clubs in the boot :happy2:) and still beats them all :happy2:
For £35K used, not much will live with it, let litchfield fettle it and a anything this side of a Veyron will struggle :signLOL:
Maybe not the best "drivers" car, but it's a serious street weapon
-
If it was a rolling start I reckon the mustang would have beat the GTR. Take the launch out the equation and it's not as quick as these type of races make it seem. My mates hybrid 996 turbos still pull on my other mates Svm 650r GTR from a rolling race.
-
Just seen these vids...Absolutely Brilliant :happy2:
The Aventador is a beast!

The terminal speeds would certainly confirm that (although not a lot in it considering the power difference). However, it would need to be well over 100 mph before it started to claw anything back at all and not everyone wants/can do that..
Those Mustang's are quick, but so so heavy.. I went up against a 500+bhp S/C'd one at Pod a few years back when my ED30 was only Stage 2. I had a sh*te start/crap run and remember thinking to myself "Game Over", but much to my amazement I nipped him on the line.. :surprised:

Agreed, if those Yank tanks aint made out of plastic they are made out of Pig Iron and damn heavy, I dont see the Boss getting anywhere near the GTR in a straight line and as for corners.................. :signLOL:
A guy at my last golf club has a GTR (61 plate), offered me a drive, but never got time before I moved house, hopefully when I am back up there in October I will give him a call!, I followed out of the GC car park and up the main road and he gunned it from 40mph, I stood no chance even with 316hp, so quick standard, cannot imagine what they are like with 650-1000hp
