Morning guys, what is the best way to check the number plate of a car I have seen, specifically that the model matches the registration?

If its a Vw, you can give VW customer services a call.. you can enquire about the service history warranty claims etc whilst you are on the line to them.
Hope this helps

Ah, must be on a Private Plate because it's not being recognised. Cheers.
-
Dunno if it's the best way but I usually use something like moneysupermarket.com, and type in the reg of the vehicle. Usually will automatically identify the correct make/model, unless it's been entered incorrectly into the database.

The reason I was interested is that it looked like a MKV GTI being sold on an 03 plate...

im sure if you can get the vin number, VW can check their database using that.

freecarcheck.org or if you have an iPhone the mycarcheck app is good as well.
