I have Xenon headlights and was wanting to know which sidelights other people are running for optimum brightness. Does anyone run LEDs ?

PIAA WOW !! Wasnt expecting the price :surprised:
Any cheaper options ?

There are lots of LED options. I'm surprised you haven't had more replies.
I just wanted hassle free installation in regards to canbus errors.

I fitted these - I think they would match well with xenon

How do they compare to standard bulbs in terms of size & shape? The last LEDs I tried as sidelights wouldn't easily fit through the hole in my aftermarket headlights. I almost lost the bulb to be forever stuck inside the headlight :jumping:

Bought mine off eBay for £7.50 posted. Would go well with xenons. They have inbuilt resistor so are error free.

The blue tint comes from my high beams bulbs which unfortunately have a blue coating on them. Need to replace them to give it the proper LED effect.
Took me all of 3 minutes to replace using pliers.

I have had a set of 5000k LED sidelights in the vRS which I got from a fellow Briskodian they have been in for well over a year with out any problems, and imo they're great. However I have tried a couple of different sets in the Golf, but either they have looked carp or failed after a few weeks.
I have now ordered a set of these - http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/170684855597?ssPageName=STRK:MEWNX:IT&_trksid=p3984.m1439.l2649 - I will post some pictures when they are fitted, fingers crossed there will be ok.

Thanks for the replies guys, but will they be safe in the Xenon lamps ? Plastic lenses. Have heard some strong bulbs can scorch the lenses ??
T or F ?

They are LEDs so wont generate hardly any heat at all.
They use less power than the standard ones which is why they require an inbuilt resistor otherwise the car detects a low current draw and thinks its faulty.
