Hi guys, i have the ECS insert at present on my stg 2+ Eddie.
I bought the full set of THS engine mounts off h4rdy so fitted the other two and left the lower mount in the garage.
Am happy with the set up but occasionally will still get wheel hop on damp roads if try to push on a little too eagerly.
Will fitting the lower mount make much difference over the insert?
Will it be a lot harsher in terms of noise vibration or will it not be too noticeable as am used to the vibration from the other mounts and like Red Robin actually like that noise
Dont want to fit it and then wish had not bothered, any thoughts appreciated.

Ok I recently fitted a VWR(Vibratechnics) lower mount in place of the ECS inserted mount.
Unbelievable difference in the shifting, I have DSG, you can really feel the positive shift it actually feels faster.
I put the VWR one on first and yes there is more vibration and then when I put the THS uppers on it was slightly more but not massively.
I also have the Powerflex dogbone mount too.
I notice it on tickover only mainly, the wife never mentioned it even when I asked her after she had driven it a couple of times.
I now have NO wheel hop and I am running Stage 2+, I have Anti Lift as well in the console bushes.
Andy, I have a Subframe that is just kicking around, if you want to take it and fit your mount into it feel free. If you don't like it swap it out sell the subframe with the THS mount in and we can come to an arrangement on the split of dosh?
If you keep it Ill have your old one if we meet up at some point. Or sell it and send me the money, whatever.
It will also be easier to fit the mount in with no rushing around.

The difference between an insert and a lower mount is like between chalk and cheese. I've had both and the lower mount results in an instant difference in traction. However, there are limits and traction is not guaranteed if you are stepping on the loud pedal too abruptly, or you have worn tyres, or an over aggressive map. The trick is to always keep everything smooooth.
The Grrrrr! is only something you get when you have all three engine mounts and it's actually advisable to even up your engine movements with all three. Slippery Slope time again!
Any vibrations you might feel are only on tickover when cold and they disappear over time as things settle anyway - I no longer feel any vibrations through the steering wheel.
I also have the BSH dogbone but it makes absolutely no difference that I can recognise.
I hope this helps............ To spend more of your money

just driven the car back from pipewerx, first impressions are traction is improved on wet, greasy roads.
vibration is noticeable when you are in 1st and just carrying out a 3 point turn or edging forward but is not too bad imo and when you are moving not noticeable unless you are in one gear to high than you should be.
going for a further test now...
