Would a diesel engine dsg car burp/fart as the petrol ones do?

No, I've had 3 petrol DSG golfs and 1 diesel.

Is it not possible on a diesel at all?

not sure to be honest. My TDI never did but a GTI a drove for a few weeks did.

Perhaps with a bigger exhaust this could be possible?

I thought that the noise was something to do with the ignition. Diesels don't have ignition.
