I used H&R springs, very good quality, only cost £100 posted. and lowered the car by about 20-25mm.
Looked much better on them.
If you want to go lower then coilovers are the best option, but cost around £400 new for a cheap set.

You think the Eibach springs are a no-go all together then ? :scared:
EDIT:-
should probably state that the car is 55' reg 1.9 TDi
as i have read that the 2.0 TDi comes 20mm lower as standard (barstewardss)
hehe

Just fitted the H&R's to mine and the ride is so much better than my previous FK coilovers and the handling isn't much off the coilovers either.

if you wouldn't mind sending me a link. haven't seen any H&R's for 1.9 TDi's on most sites :sad1:

If you go for Eibachs (considered one of the best on the Octavia II which is the mk5 floor plan) they're cheaper on Larkspeed.

cheers, these seems to be the best option as far as i can tell- 45mm on front and 35 on rear.
nice stance and cheapest price (almost)
how can it go wrong?
famous last words? .... hehe

sportlines seem the best at least it lowers front more than rear this is what i want out of my suspension slightly lower front to the rear. all other kits seem to lower same all round, some state rear more.
May go for them and shocks instaed of my original idea of coilovers any one have pics of there golf with these
