Sorry but don't pay for courtesy car at VW Leeds so I would ask why you do there, All I pay for is the petrol or diesel that goes back in it.

The £12 is for the insurance - if you can provide your own the courtesy car is free.  At least at my stealers ...

Never had to pay for a courtesy car at JCT600 VW Hull, or more recently, F Cross VW Grimsby.

My old Subaru dealer would charge me a fiver for one, but the second Scooby seller didn't. It seems to be policy individual to specific dealers or dealer groups.

It is a specific dealer thing as I remember from my dealership days. Tell them that if the waiver the charge you will go there instead of notts, if they say no I will be amazed  :surprised:

They usually provide it free for warranty work and try and charge for service. All you need to do is make a quick 1 minute phone call to your insurance and they will give you free temp cover.  :happy2:

The charge for loan cars is down to the dealer to decide
There is no "must pay" there is no charge for insurance...
When they ask you weather you have your own insurance (wich you need to prove your cover is fully comp not 3rd party) then there is no charge

It is free of charge to have the customer put on the dealers insurance....BUT if you read the small print you'll see that when you agree by the dealers insurance there will be a excess to pay if anything happens wich the cost varies from dealer to dealer

We don't charge for them, just ask for the fuel to be re filled as courtesy for using our cars free of charge

Hole this helps

If it's the dealer you bought the car from you would expect it to be free - loyalty etc. I would use this to get them to waive the fee
They don't levvy a charge when you want a test drive now do they?! Just think of how many tenners they must take in a year...probably pays for the traders policy plus a round at the Christmas party.

And how often does that actually happen? Ours used to be on fumes constantly!  :fighting:

I pay the £12 quid at my dealers, but don't put any fuel in so doesn't work out too bad.

And just think of the amount of customers that trash the cars, therefore needing repairs, and for the dealership to keep their huge insurance costs down pay for it out of the company budget......?

You would be surprised the amount of customers that ding the bumper on our courtesy cars, try getting away with not telling us, then we do an inspection on return and find it needs a body shop to repair the damage.

They are also normally the customers that argued about paying the waiver because they don't have accidents! Lol.
