I've got a standard 2007 GTI (non ed30), I have (to be fitted) WALK, whiteline ARBs, Twintake & SS exhaust, I'm looking to go to stage 1 possibly 2, what would be my best option? I want reliabilty more than anything else, whats the best performance upgrade to go for? I live in Swindon so really want to go somewhere fairly local. help appreciated!

Your question is slightly vague?? but for stage 2 you need a down pipe of some description. Any of the big name engine tuners, maps will ( should be reliable ) as long as your car is healthy beforehand you should not get any problem at all adding power, apart from the fact you will just want more. :happy2:

Cheers TC, I was a bit the worse for wear when i asked the question, shouldn't mix internet & drinking :signLOL:

Not sure how responsive the stock GTi is regarding stage 2 but with a TBE like Miltek and Revo stage 2 map you will be shocked how good it is. I have tried a twintercooler and more aggressive settings but really like the car stage 2 with just TBE. The chassis requires an LSD and a lot more work to use more power IMO.
I had a little run against a 997 C4 targa on the M4 and needless to say when I did pull over after putting a small but notable distance between me and him (when finally the guy in front moved over and the Porsche driver had no more reason to tailgate suggesting I was holding him up) he had a bemused look on his face ;-)
I actually think it would take speeds nearer 120/130 plus before he would have proved any point.
The Porsche has similar weight, a few more hp abd a little less torque ( and better chassis aero !) He needed to have a GT2/3 if he wanted to make any point on the motorway !
