Just thought it give you a heads up about these....
http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/ELM327-OBDII-OBD2-V1-4-Bluetooth-Diagnostic-Interface-/110631743111?pt=UK_Diagnostic_Tools_Equipment&hash=item19c22a6e87
They work on any car with an OBDII port and connects via Bluetooth to your android phone (not supported by iPhone do to the bluetooth being locked)
The app you will need is called Torque, i think its a few quid. It gives you loads of information (although we couldn't get it to show boost pressure) and also does timed 0-60 and 1/4miles times. It also reads fault codes and i think you can clear them directly from there (didn't test that out because i didn't have any fault codes)
Hope thats of some use to someone.

Got one on the way to me at the moment. Looking forwards to trying Torque out

Good find :happy2:
I don't believe any of the wireless OBD-II readers (like this or the PLX Wifi ones for examples) can support boost pressure at present, that's why I borough the PLX Kiwi with iMFD so I could add a boost receiver module

nice find :happy2:
should work with this app too

I tried Harry's lap timer Pro at Snetterton, which should have worked like this: -
But the sync of the video with on screen overlay wasn't very good or didn't trigger at all. I am sure it was user error
-
Steve, how does that app 'know' the track? Or does it learn it just off the GPS?
Looks like a great app.
-
I keep looking at these! How reliable and accurate are they?

Looks like a great app.
It uses a list of POI's from a track database and works it out from the phones GPS.
The other option is to just record the data for the overlay and export this so it can be used along side the video from another source (like the GoPro HD) :happy2:

I've got one of these :happy2:
Using the app "Torque" (cost about 2 quid)
Very good program & cleared my fault codes :happy2:
-
I've also got one of these - very useful.
I made a thread about it a while back when I did some data logging. :happy2:

You can get this app on iphone... but your saying it wont connect to the bluetooth module?
-
Oh, and boost is now supported in the latest versions but I haven't had much of a chance to test it - I'm not sure if it's actual or requested boost (or somehow calculated).

Correct. I'm not sure if this still applies with a jailbroken iPhone.

Just a little bump. We tried the fault code scanning function yesterday and it worked great, it included the code ref. number too and description, and allows the faults to be cleared.
Very cheap alternative to casual fault scanning/clearing, instead of blowing 250 quid on a VCDS cable.

Has anyone else used this supplier? I was sold a faulty item and the past and was given a prompt refund. How reliable is this bluetooth interface?

Well.. i have not, but AFAIK its the same one my brother has bought. Seems fairly well made, and seems to be reliable, but it is very cheap for that it is.....

Just found out this doesn't find airbag fault codes, so can't clear it.
Time to get VCDS out :signLOL:
