18” Avon Ice HL Winter Tyres 255/55 H 18
will these be the right tyres for edition 30 alloys
-
I might be missing a trick but these are waaaaaaaaaaaay too wide. 18s are normally 225/40
-
Yep, they're not going to work!
-
thanks came on ebay about 3 miles from my house.
-
what are you guys/gals doing about winter tyres, fitting on your original alloys or buying a second set. If buying a second set what is the best option 16/17/18.
-
On stock car, 16s should fit I think. 17s definitely will.
-
You'd be better off with a smaller wheel like 16 or 17. A lot of people will refit their stock wheels over the winter as road salt is  when it comes to your nice new shiny wheels
-
205/55/16's are the future for winter tyres, fits fine over the GTI stock brakes :happy2:
-
having an ed 30 I have kept the stock alloys. What will be the cheapest alloys to search on ebay that fit, should i change brands to audi/seat/sloda as there does not appear to many golf mk5 wheels out there at present.
-
Lots of 16" Audi wheels to choose from normally or look for some steel wheels too :happy2:
-
Just picked up a set of 17" monza's for £120 in good condition (not that it matters) and missed out on a set for £90. They are plenty cheap if you keeps your eyes open.
Amazingly it looks like I'm going to have to pay more to get a set of either 14" alloys or steels for the wifes polo! :sad1:

Thats nuts, I have contacted a company in Hereford and they have asked me the following questions, any ideas on the measurements:
Are you able to let me know how many stud holes and the PCD measurement you require at all??
I know it is 5 stud holes but what is a pcd measurement>
-
5 stud
112mm pcd
or 5x112 wheel fitment.
HTH :happy2:
-
thanks

Wah thinking of these:

The PCD on this rim is 5x110, and the ET measurement is 50.
