Post by: Johnny_tro on September 28, 2011, 06:00:17 pm
I have the highline display, cruise control etc. but the MFSW button are not yet plugged in.

My wiper arm on the right has the button on the end, press and it scrolls between temp, mpg etc........I was sat at lights today playing (as you do).........
held the button in and  :surprised: had a list appear.....

MF
Radio
Navigation
Setup
Back etc. etc.

Is this Convenience Menu??

 :happy2: Cool

Question for ya, when on radio function.......the button on the end then allows you to change your pre-set stations. When connected to MDI is skips track....handy until I get the MFSW working.

HOW do you switch between the radio and MDI? can't work it out?

?

so if it on radio........the stalk will control radio

if selected MDI it will control MDi?

Stupid question again......what is............

Leaving Home lights? 40 secs?
Coming Home Lights? 40 secs?

My ambient lights (red ones in roof) they come on when I unlock the car......then go out and stay out. Last MK5 I have these stayed on full time? how do I activate these to stay on?

Coming home/leaving lights will do exactly that when you unlock/lock the car IF its dark enough to turn on the lights in the first place.  :happy2:

That's it? just how long the lights stay on for when you press lock/unlock?

My 'Menu' does not have the word 'Convenience' listed anywhere in it, but does and the lights and vison opion.......so how can I check the car to see if I have convenience or not?

The red ambient lighting only comes on if the lights are on.

you have a highline cluster 971 so you use the stalk to control it the conveinience menu and light menu are under setup which you show in your picture, if you go there then you should be able to alter the light options coming home leaving home lights and auto door locks over a certain speed (conveinience menu)

From what you have said in other threads I assume your car was factory fit highline and the stalk activation gives it away as the earliest version so 2004 2005 car so you will have both max modules as Eddie has pointed out, with the old buttons you just have to operate it in a different way to the later cars, Danish has the same version as you in his car.

Everything is factory fit, the only thing the car is missing was the ctual MFSW, which is now on, just not wired up.

OK, so is this a 'full on' as the highline will go? as I can't change..... speed, rain closing, locking, mirror adjustment.

Mine seems basic compared to this one I just googled...

Rain closing will not be shown until you activate the option in VCDS...no VW left factory with this option in the highline, Also the highlines you are showing(not your own) are newer 972 clocks so have the menu button on the steering wheel.

You need to get a full scan done to see what modules you have on board.
