A couple of times, I've gone to my car and the red light on the door cap stays on after I've unlocked the car.
Anyone here know why that might be?
-
yeah i've had that even stays on while i'm driving sometimes, what's it mean?
-
I think it indicates a fault.
When my drivers door lock was beefed the red light would flash rapidly as normal after hitting the button to lock then stay solid. This was my first clue things were amiss and sure enough the drivers door wasn't locking. Handy for would be thieves I thought.
Check that all your doors have unlocked / have it scanned for any fault codes relating to the alarm.

does it? well i always check mine and it seems to be ok..... will keep my eye on it!

Does it do what mine did when i had a faulty siren?

I think it just stays lit permanently, but it hasn't done it again since my posting. I'll keep an eye on it and report back.
BTW, that thread makes terrible reading.

Mine does this sometimes. I think I remember reading it happens if you happen to unlock the car at the exact time the light flashes. Think it's due to a bug in the door controller but nothing serious. Don't quote me on this thought as I'm not 100% sure.
If you lock the car and unlock it again (obviously when the light doesn't flash) then it will go away.
