It's not quite what i was hoping for. I'm about to do a ed30/K04 rebuild on my standard gti, and the plastic tube going from the filter down to the turbo is different for the ed30 and the s3. The third hole for the hose from te dv relocation is positioned in different places and looks different. From my understanding is the dv located on the side of the engine on the ed30 and in front on the s3 :surprised:
-
Hi, I solved it myself, the dv relocation for the ED30 is sitting on the resonance tube just prior to the firewall on the (in england) drivers side of the car. :jumping:
-
I don't think it is!
It's front and centre as you look at the engine bay, isn't it???

Yep, as shown in the link from Dan above: -

The ED30 DV is located at the front of the engine. The normal GTi has the DV located at the back of the engine.

I have pictures of the actual part, how do i post it??

So i ended up with both a S3 and ED 30 DV relocation solution for my K04 build :jumping:
-
My conclusion ended up being, the S3 is in front because it hasn't got the "GTI sound" resonationtube, and the ED30 solution is the easiest while keeping the res. tube. The S3 is mounted where the GTI is situated on the plastic tube comming from IC going to inlet manifold
-
none of you ed30 guys seen this in your engine bays??
-
completly different to mine!
-
so you don't have the gti sound tube that goes into the cabine?
-
I understood that this was only fitted to US-spec models.
-
gti sound tube? :rolleye:
-
The sound tube is only fitted to left hand drive cars. From memory I think it has something to do with lack of room when they fitted the right hand drive steering rack and associated bits.
