Post by: danishmkvgti on October 01, 2011, 07:47:40 pm: I saw this plane fly today at an airstrip in Sweden, my first IRL of this plane, unfortunately i didn't get pictures of it flying but what a whistle it made when it overflew us.
Can anyone guess what airplane it is??

Sorry for the distant picture, for some reason the pilot decided to land on another part of the airfield than we were racing on :grin:

My best bet would be a gloster experimental plane, might be the one that was the plane that could be the first to break the sound barrier but was denied the opportunity to do so and who's data was the background for the x1?? :confused: :drinking:

It was the plane built by Avro to test their Delta wing theories before building the Vulcan.

Guessed right too (without scrolling down! :wink:) as I too saw this last year at coventry. In fact there were two in the air that day was there not Mr H?
