Guys,
I've read sóóó many forums/topics about the 'carbon build up/ aerated oil and failing stock pcv's.
Looking for the best option to solve these problems, but confused, because there are so many brands and solutions.
Can you guys help me out?
What to choose? -->
- A complete closed catch can system, like the forge model (with charcoal canister space, because I have a EU version mk5)?
- A complete open catch can system, like BSH race models?
- A PCV Fix like the Eurojet PCV Fix?
- A DIY PCV Bypass system that vents to air, like http://www.bobistheoilguy.com/forums...1468694&page=1
- Something else?
What's best for performance and to 'stop'/'slow down' carbon build up?
Thanks,
Tim

Theoretically best catch can to have is one that vents to air but unfortunately you won't pass emissions testing and tend to produce an oily smell in the car at times.
That being said, a closed system catch can like the forge or bsh one will do fine. It all comes down to how much you want to pay.

Less than the Forge one 340 pounds!?! :scared: :stupid: :rolleye:
But only pcv fixes with catchcans really solve the carbon buildup problem?

A closed catch can system will minimise inlet valve deposits.
The forge one is expensive but the cheaper bsh one will do just as well even though it lacks the viewing level for the can.

What's the benefit from just a PCV fix like the eurojet or bsh pcv revamp?

Those two won't prevent valve build up.

If you do decide on a simple PCV fix, we have BSH in stock at forum price of £70 if interested drop us a pm :happy2:

Is that right?
I thought, probably wrongly, that it was the oil going back in the inlet manifold that caused the build up on valves?
The BSH cures that by blanking it off.
Not doubting you, just asking a question :happy2:
