Post by: d.mellor on October 08, 2011, 05:24:04 pm
Iv seen some nice RH ZW1 alloys 17" 8jj but ET60. will these fit on the mk5?
Mine is a 1.9tdi but i think all golfs are the same.

they'll clear the brakes but they really need 15mm spacers on either side to fill the arches

I have some 20mm spacers on the rear at the minute so i could use them, do you think the fronts will be ok or have too much tuck?
Im not really good with ET but im guessing the higher the number the more the wheel will be in the arch. and the lower the number the more poke it will have?

Thanks for your help.

Correct.   :drinking:

If you base the wheel size you have quoted on an OEM GTi Monza which iirc is 7.5J ET51, then the RH ZW1's will have 15mm less inner clearance and sit in board 3mm further than Monza.  IMO if you fit 20mm spacers on the rear it will probably look good, but it will make the fronts look daft.  If I were you, I would look to get a pair of 15mm hubcentric spacers for the front and run the 20mm on the rear for the perfect balance.  :happy2:
