Title: Another 'Exhaust Gas Warning Lamp' Problem
Post by: mb on October 10, 2011, 05:09:50 pm
Had the exhaust gas warning lamp flash and a loss of power/juddering as I accelerated a few weeks ago.  The lamp did stop flashing and go out after a bit and the car felt normal so I just put it down to being low on fuel.  Then a couple of weekends ago whilst on the motorway the same thing happened.  This time I had a full tank of fuel.  For the rest of the journey and on the way home I could feel the loss of power/juddering when accelerating.

I checked for faults codes and had:

000768 - Random/Multiple Cylinder Misfire Detected
000770 - Cylinder 2: Misfire Detected

Booked it in with VW to see what they could find expecting a call to say I needed new spark plugs or coil packs, but instead received a call telling me I required a new cylinder 2 injector.  Picked the car up earlier and it feels just like it did before

Thought I would post this as I have seen a few other posts about exhaust gas warning lamps coming on, misfires detected, etc so may help someone!
