Well we have SKY+ and an HD box. We are thinking of cancelling it and going the freeview route. Would the SKY box suffice to get most freeview or would a change of box help? We like the record one programme watch another , will we still be able to record on our SKY+ box if we have no contract with them? Will the SKY+ box with the card removed give exactly the same service so we can see what we might get ?
Any other suggestions welcome

The SKY+ box will give you all the channels but you will lose recording. You can pay SKY £10 a month to use the recording on the box, probably best just to get a Freesat Recorder

FreesatHd for me. No bills, enough channels for me and built in LAN for on demand tv. 500gb freesat box for pause rewind recording of programms.

Sounds good mike. Our 32" panny is dying. Can you get HD freeview recorders built in?

Rich - I have a 42" Panasonic with built-in freeview and freesat recording facility, you just connect up a dedicated external drive,1TB in my case, via USB socket and you can record in HD quality

When we recently had one of the multi rooms switched off we were left with little or no channels other than the standard 5. Didn't even get sky 1! :fighting2:
