Title: miss fire on GT tdi 170
Post by: daz5182 on October 10, 2011, 09:06:09 pm
At low revs between 1500 and 2000 the car seems to jerk about a bit. Anyone had this before? More noticeable in lower gears but does it in them all.

Any ideas?

Thanks

Daz

i would get it scanned first as a remap will props make it worse--know the 17o tdi had trouble with the injectors

It's had all the injectors done mate, all nice and new. Done at the VW dealer 2 weeks ago, when you say scanned do you mean plugged in at the dealer?

If they were only replaced a fortnight ago I'd be heading back to the dealer. Why were they replaced? I ask as I have a 170 and I keep expecting a problem, tho' it has been good as gold since I bought it 5 months ago.

I think it is a common thing with them, I'm sure a remap will sort it out. Will be going back to VW first though as suggested.

Mind's always done it, not all the time though it's intermittent. Oh well.

Daz nothing wrong with your car bud VW will tell you its a common on this engine I still get it even though its mapped,

There was no faults on your car the other day so don't worry about that, IF it gets worse then speak to vw but honestly don't worry about it,

Run a couple of tanks of v power diesel through it seems to sort my car out

Will try the V Power mate see if that sorts it for a bit.

What's an EGR Gasket? What do they do?

Thanks

Are we talking here low rpm on full throttle? If so thats fairly normal, my old TDI used to do that, and i think mapping it made it worse because of the increase in torque.

nah mate i'm talking low rpm and hardly any throttle, if you give it full throttle then it is fine, it's when you're driving steady it does it.

You need the car to be running perfectly prior to having a remap, any issued will just be magnified by the map

I have the same issue. I thought it maybe the map as I had my DPF removed.

Giving it some throttle relieves the problem but still dont know what it is. It maybe just me but more frequent in winter.
